Stacked Dryer Vent Conection

Bev

We are stacking our washer and dryer to gain space for a cabinet and sink. The washer/dryer is 27” and the distance between the wall and cabinet is 32”. The vent to the outside for the dryer is in this side wall near the floor. We ordered a side vent kit for the dryer so that the vent will come out the side of the dryer. We picked up a periscope dryer vent to connect the dryer vent to the outlet. Our question is what is the best way to connect the periscope vent? Do we first connect one end of the vent to the outlet and then the other end to the dryer, and push the dryer in place as the middle telescopes in? What about clamps? Thx!!!
