The condenser dryers from both Miele and Bosch work as fast and efficiently as a vented dryer. You'd see a vast improvement over the drying results you'd gotten used to with a combo unit. Not only that, you'll be able to wash AND dry full-sized loads. With the combo units you can only dry a load that is half the size of a normal wash load. Condenser dryers are matched to handle full-sized wash loads. An added bonus, and one that few people consider -- with a separate dryer, you'll be bale to do laundry twice as fast. With a combo unit, you wash a load, then you dry it. The appliance is tied up for several hours for a single load. With a separate dryer, you can wash a load, transfer it to the dryer, then while the first load is drying, you can wash a second load. A much more efficient way to do laundry. Hope this helps.

I'm faced with a similar situation, in reverse. We just installed 24" units side-by-side, in a closet with a 48" opening. The plumber had put in a very nice metal tray, with drain in the bottom rear. I thought of several ways to lever/slide/lift the washer in, but didn't really have any help that day. It's installed temporarily without the tray now. I've decided that I will cut the front corners of the tray, bend the front side down, install the tray (the washer will be slid out of course), slide the washer into the tray, over a slick piece of masonite, get everything secure and hooked up, then bend the edge back up. I'll use metal repair tape to hold it in place, then I'll seal the corners with silicone seal. This should be sufficient for an emergency tray. You may be able to do something like this in reverse. If not, you may have to just resign yourself to calling a professional installer. I'm sure that some of them have dealt with this. And there are some incredibly strong guys out there. Good luck.

The LG dryer uses 240V, but they only offer a ventless condenser model in the US market in the size that you are looking for. The LG washer is 120V. If you get both a 24-inch Bosch washer and a 24-inch Bosch dryer you can connect one appliance to the other so that you only need one 240V outlet on the wall. Bosch offers both vented and ventless/condenser dryers. Do check the height of the water drain input in your home to make sure that the drain pump in the Bosch washers can handle it (the manuals should be posted on the Bosch web site). GE offers 24-inch laundry machines in the same price range. One washer model (120V), and two 240V dryers (vented or condenser). The labels on the machines say that they are made in Korea, and in my opinion the look of many of the parts closely resemble machines that Samsung sells in the German market, including the Samsung "diamond" drum feature.

I have the Electrolux and love it! The IQ does have the steam. I bought the Wave Touch 5 months ago and can honestly say, it is the best on the market. Electrolux really stands behind there product. They know they have the best machines, thats why they don't discount them. The new model of the Wave touch is out now and has double the cycles that the 2009 model has. especially more steam cycles. Its model # EWFLS70J also, the washer is now 5.1 instead of 4.7. If you can afford the Wave Touch, you will never regret buying it, trust me. These machines actually makes doing laundry fun. Especially the fact that you can put the light on while the machine is running and the Fast Wash cycle is only 15 min now on the new model.. amazing!!! go buy it! you wont be sorry you did
