Benjamin Moore's "Pale Oak" undertones??
Comments (53)My living room was initially lavender....I freaked... and added an extra coat.... I freaked again and just tried my best to paint the greige or breige into those walls. I gave up in disbelief...MY.ROOM.IS.NOW.PINKISH.PURPLE. Fortunately, the problem vanished with four completely dry walls. The color so neutral I can redo this room with absolutely any design or fabric or carpet or special item and it adapts to mix and match with every color imaginable. Love it. The room I chose has challenging light shifts, but Pale Oak meets every shift in light with reliable neutrality. You will be able to be very creative with all added elements in a room painted this shade!...See MoreHow can I find out what color is complimentary to BM pale oak?
Comments (18)Sure. Very pretty. White Dove and Pale Oak are fine together. Low contrast. Barely enough difference in chroma to work together - but, again, it's fine. And I can see how the low contrast, continuity between the two would be appealing to a certain aesthetic. I personally like more contrast and a brighter, cleaner white on trim. Like OC-151 White or SW's Extra White. That's just my personal preference....See Morewhites, off whites and trim conundrum
Comments (12)My builder uses strictly Sherwin Williams and will be color matching the 2 or 3 BM colors that I chose. I've never seen a Sherwin Williams match to BenM's Super White that I thought was good enough to call it "match". You may have a different opinion - you might love the custom match. But I recommend you stipulate in your contract that you have to approve the SW color match to Super White and if they can't match it to your satisfaction, then he's going to have to get it from Benjamin Moore. I only want one crisp white for all the trim in the whole house(except where it will make my cabinets look dingy) I can only speak to the comparison of White Duck to the original BenM Super White, not the SW color match. There is a generous difference in terms of Chroma between the two colors. That means it's unlikely either will make the other look dingy. Ok you color guru’s does the White Duck and Edgecomb Gray work together? They're very similar. White Duck is slightly lighter and more neutral, less colorful. Edgecomb is the darker of the two and has more color. They're most similar in terms of hue family. You're either going to love it or you're not. In certain low light moments you might not be able to tell they're two different colors....See MoreClassic Gray vs Shoji White - how to tone down warm kitchen cabinets
Comments (70)cdisimone - I have very similar color cabinets and granite in my kitchen except my backsplash is lighter and floors are very dark porcelain, wood look tile. I've been looking for a color that will work throughout the majority of my house too. After weeks of deliberating, I started with my dining room and painted Shoji White last night. Not sure I like it....it does not look warm or creamy in my house at all. It looks like a very light cool gray. :-( I was going more for a warm white so I can brighten things up but still have the warm, cozy feel. I'm going to give it a few days before continuing on through the rest of my house. My suggestion is to paint an entire wall or much larger sample on your wall before deciding!...See More- 10 months ago
