Blank wall between kitchen and dining

I have a blank wall between my kitchen and dining. It’s always felt like it needed something but after building I ran out of steam. It’s a small area- approx 42” wide wide; however, I have very little wall space in the home due to lots of windows so I would like to take advantage of it. I thought of some sort of side table with mirrow above but it would have to be very narrow as that corner to kitchen is a bit of a choke point and I don’t want to make it harder to navigate around corner. Perhaps just artwork? I don’t want window treatments on the window. Second photo shows dining area to the right of the window.

It look to me you do have enough space. Place one of your dining chairs under the window, and leave it there for couple days, and see how do you feel about it. Or just a tiny bench.

Pretty space! I think I'd hang art there and leave it open. But Lila's advice is good about placing a chair there temporarily to see how traffic flows. You could add a large rug under your dining table for more pattern and texture if you feel like something's missing.

I don't know if anyone has brought this up, but you do not have room for anything behind the island seats - except wall art or a chalkboard or similar. Even going into the studs will be iffy - if anyone needs to get something from it and there's someone sitting at the island it will be an issue. The minimum distance behind seating if there is nothing behind the seats except a wall and only light traffic is 44" - and that's the distance b/w the counter and the wall, not b/w seats. When you start adding cabinets, etc., even shallow ones, you now need at least 54" - and you won't have anywhere near that much. Add to it that it's a busy aisle, and you will need 60". Even with nothing behind the seats but a busy aisle, 48" is pushing it (should be 54" with a busy aisle & nothing behind the seats). If you put something b/w the studs, just make sure it's not something that people will need to get to very often - then you will probably be OK. Yes, in the infrequent times someone needs to get to whatever is stored in the wall, people will just have to deal with it. It's not something I would expect people to have to deal with frequently, though. Good luck!

A local Kitchen Designer can measure the space, including ceiling height and plumbing locations and then draw up a plan for you. Moving walls ups the budget on one of the most expensive home projects that you can do. So you might want to consider leaving it.

Wow, everyone's being pretty nitpicky. This room looks great. Beverly and celery both nailed the art; something large and subdued on that wall is all you need. There's nothing wrong with all the different shades of beige and brown. It's calm without being boring. (OK, one little nitpick from me: shorten the curtains so they just skim the floor. I don't think you need to get new ones.)

Sorry but we need an actual to scale drawing to give any advice . Use graph paper make sure all windows and doorways are clearly matked where those doorways lead all measurements clearly marked and the drawing able to be enlarged . If the kitchen is 11 ft wide you do not have space for an island . That is why we need to scale drwaings , you can make anything fit on a piece of paper with no parameters/

I appreciate those renderings!

I moved an antique pie safe there (normally lives at other end of table) and I liked having something there but it was too deep for that spot.

I second the dining room rug, husband is pushing back on that saying I already have too many (lol) and it’s easier to clean under it without one.

Second @ShadyWillowFarm's suggestion of continuing on with rods and draperies for all the windows. Hang rods at the same height.

I like the side table with plant/ greenery greenery suggestion. I like the style here, much taller smaller table of course. I wouldn’t include seating.

I would not put anything on the floor (furniture) but would stack some art in that space
