Am I dealing with Aster Yellows?

I hope this isn't a duplicate posting but I'm not seeing my original from earlier today.
These pics represent multiple coneflower plants, from plain old purpea to Pow Wow White to a double cranberry. I feel like I might be dealing with Aster Yellows. I hate the idea of having to dig these up and destroy them! But if they're diseased, I obviously can't let the issue fester.
The plants get dappled sun through about 2pm, at which point they get hit with full western sun until about 6pm.

I don't think .so.It looks like weevil damage in the one's that are opened . The other ones just look like buds that haven't opened yet. You may also get buds that just have the cone and no petals from mites. Also with asters yellow the foliage will usually ( but not always ) have chlorosis, yours looks very healthy but I would still keep a close eye on .them..Here are some pics that should help ID the problem. Also you should snip off the flower heads that have mite damage and clean good the fall to get rid of the mites, they live inside the cone. Also look over flower heads for weevils, small black beetle looking bugs and knock them ofoff Into a bowl with water and dishdish soap ,they can swim out of just .water

Thanks Beesandblues, that's very good info you've shown. Thankfully, mine "so far" have been healthy, I did have asters yellows when first moving to this property, though haven't had a reoccurrence in a good dozen years.

I had a ech that was highly infected last summer fall. About 90% of the late summer into fall blooms where mite infected. I removed every single bloom that showed signs and trimmed it to the ground a bit early last fall. I didn't remove the leaf mulch around the plant like you could try to get any eggs... But this year the plant has only had a smal fraction of infected blooms... The rest are just fine and the plant is growing very well. I see plants being sold tha are obviously infected ... So you would have to swear off the new coneflowers if you didn't want any chance of mites.... Or grow all from seed.... Which is a very viable option now with the great colors you can get from the 'Cheyenne spirit' seed line.

Garlic and Aster Yellows Disease

I recently started a thread in the Vegetable Forum regarding my and many other Minnesota growers' garlic crops being destroyed by Aster yellows this year. I am posting the link to that thread below. I am cross-posting in the pertinent GW forums in the hopes of receiving more input and/or suggestions regarding the subject matter by folks who may be able to help but do not follow the Vegetable Forum. We need all the info/advice we can get in order to get a handle on this disease regarding how to prepare for it, control it, fight it, or to at least minimize its damaging effects, if it occurs again here. I am passing all helpful information on to any Minnesota garlic grower who requests it and is not a member of GW. Please reply to this topic on the main thread in the Vegetable Forum, not here. Well, it doesn't really make sense for the mites to cause the problem, but it was just interesting that a photo on the first site when I googled came up had the black edges. It has been rainy in many places this year, and so a lot of plants are struggling. Struggling plants get more pests and diseases, that's the way it works, so maybe it would be good to look at other factors and try to get those under control, to move on towards eventually getting the mites under control. It all goes together. Kind of hard to manipulate the rain, though. At least it's dried up here. I agree a whole plant shot would be good to see, if OP is still around.

Thank you Beesandblues! I'm going to keep an eye on them as they bud out further and compare with your picks. That one white one in my pic sure looks like the damage of eriophyid mites with the way the petals are distorted.

If I remember correctly the pictures are from Ohio State University so they are a reliable source,, I downloaded tthem for quick reference. I ripped up many plants that I'm sure never had Asters Yellow before learning about other things that can be mistaken for AY so glad to .help
