Exterior Foundation Paint Color Ideas?

What color should I paint the bottom of my house? I'm not a fan of the raw concrete blocks. I also plan on painting the garage door.

I would use the color of your brick for the foundation, and possibly the color of your roof for the garage door and shutters. I think the color of your columns and gables could be improved to better complement the railings, but need to know if they have been clear coated, or if they will be allowed to weather to gray.

Thanks for your ideas. I just bought this house recently so still figuring stuff out. The columns don't appear to be clear coated. The columns are kind of faded, I thought about painting them tricorn black to match the shutters and door trim but not sure if that would be too much. I also planned to stain the porch railings.

Cream to match the siding would be safe. With your color scheme just about any color would work. Drive around and take note of what others have done and see what grabs you. And remember, you don't have to paint the foundation at all.

I think a blue gray would look good. I wouldn't go too dark. I would also paint the garage doors that color. The white is uninspiring. Your roof looks gray, so you have a lot of options like the green shown above. Yellow is one of my favorite colors, but the yellow you have is too assertive, so as you said, tone it down if you do yellow again.

The house looks dark to me, too. That said, it's one picture taken at one point in time. And, I'm sure the awning increases the shade. I'd suggest a yellow (sunny or pale) or a light blue. That said, I suggest you take down the awnings and take pics at different times of day to get a better sense of what the house looks like through the day. Most houses are shaded part of the day and they always look better and brighter when they are in the sun. You can limb up the tree (ie cutting some lower branches), which will help, although the awning suggest that shade is really needed. For landscaping advice, you need to tell us zone, nearest city and sun/shade. Do you know what those plants at the front edge of the property are? Are they weeds or worth saving? You should ID them. It's a waste to toss good plants that need a little pruning or TLC, but saving weeds is not a good idea either.

I agree, find a color that closely matches the roof, for the foundation.

It might be nice to use a third color for the front gable and porch columns. The stairs and deck could be left to weather to gray, or stained a driftwood color to complement the gable and columns. I like this Benjamin Moore color that resembles tree bark.
