I want to change my awnings

I don’t like what is there! Need ideas to update the awnings.

I agree, the color does not complement the other fixed colors (roof and stucco) and the shape fights the architecture. Could you just remove them, and add window treatments and or tinting to control the light? 100% remove the ones over the bays, the center one could become a simple rectangular awning on spears...

I never assume that one's screen (member) name is their 'real' name. Have you thought of signing your posts with your 'first' name? Things to think about...your review thread, and all your past trading history. I think GW can change it for you, using your existing email addy, if you contact them via the Contact Us link found at the bottom of any page. Another option would be for you to just create a new member name, but you would either have to use a new email addy, or change the addy on the zackey account so as to free up the existing addy. If you did it that way, you could then put a blurb on the zackey member page telling that you now have a new member page...no explanation needed. hth. Sue

I feel your pain! For the last hour I have been trying to register on line for a form. I actually got to the point of submitting the request. Three times it came back saying the "first name contained invalid characters". I typed the name exactly as it was on the bill from the company, but it still wouldn't let me register. After the third time, a message appeared, "We cannot accommodate your request. Please try again at a later time." ARRGGHH! Blue, at least you got to speak with human beings!!! :>(

I took my pine tv cabinet from this: to this: I didn't want a solid, single color paint look, but something with more depth. The end result is just what I wanted, and was easy to do. The process is multi step but each step is easy and very forgiving, nothing needs to be perfect. I like blue a lot, though I've also had green, white, and red doors. For your home, I would choose either the one they call "powder blue" .... though it looks slightly more aqua to me, or the one directly below (my first choice) which is against ivory and navy stucco. https://www.homestratosphere.com/blue-front-doors/

Yes, I want you to remove them too. I would think it is fine to have nothing at all. If for some reason those rooms get too much light, control from inside with window treatments. Your home is going to look so different and much more inviting without them.

How about these "spearhead" awnings? I would paint the blue wood trim a dark brown. Maybe paint the front door blue.

They don't match the house. I'd remove them and see whether you need the shade or if curtains can do the trick.

Thanks! We are going to take down the 2 over the windows to see how it looks! Then I have to try to match the paint to touch up where the holes are from the awnings. Can’t wait to see how the look will be when they’re gone

Is the awning over the door covering an overhang? if so remove it as well.

Your house is lovely and the awnings take so much away from its look. Maybe also consider doing more…painting window trim, lightening entrance, balancing landscaping on both sides under windows and adding plants/stones in raised beds next to walkway.

Begin by removing the awnings completely. Then take another picture of the conditions.

Decide if you want to control the light by interior solar shades or film on the windows. If you still want awnings then we can draw examples on your base building to see what works.

Window framing pergolas are a consideration for Spanish-style homes.
