It's Fall, Some plants just started blooming!!! What do I do??
Comments (3)Angel, some of my plants have been doing the same thing! I planted Forget-Me-Nots last Spring, and NOW they decide to bloom! Also, a variety of lilac, with tiny blooms, has busted out (a bit). Does the plant world know something we don't know? I'm hoping you'll get lots of replies that tell us this is nothing unusual....See MoreStarting to have some bloom here in TN.
Comments (5)They're both beautiful in different ways. Golden Showers is really gorgeous and that's the shape I usually like. I don't usually like the singles, but the stamins and pistils look so happy there!!! Thanks for the shot of yellow! Carol...See MoreTo late to start in zone5/6 some fruit set
Comments (6)Good morning, No, it's not too late. You should have enough time for most varieties. Most of us in zone 5 put out our tomatoes at the end of May, usually Memorial Day weekend, so you're only a little bit behind. Folks who plant earlier in May have hoop houses or use other devices to get the plants through days/nights that might be too chilly for tomatoes. Those folks are very dedicated, but most of us are casual gardeners and not so organized and equipped. :-) Heck, some of the ones I have in the ground are still only about 18 inches high. Go for it and enjoy your tomatoes. :-)...See MoreStill some blooms left, plus the late show underway
Comments (13)Thanks everyone! Nancy, Luna does poly fairly often for me and when it does it is striking. I get several poly blooms each summer. Nancy G., yes I enjoy the many 'moods' of Which Way Jim and how it can look totally different during the season. Sometimes it is purple and other times it varies from brown to gray-purple. When the temps are cool it goes very dark purple like the photo above. (I got it because my hubby's name is Jim and he is also 'moody'....lol). Brad, Pinhill Claret Symphony blooms for a long time and what a workhorse in the garden, with multiple blooms on tall scapes and striking color....See Morelilykate7a
