Comments (7)Have you seen what they call a "dogbone"? It is basically 4 pieces about 6-8 inches long shaped like a bone. It's skinny in the middle & fatter on the end. I would guess at 1 1/2-2" in the middle & 3-3 1/2" on each end. Tiny seams with a space left open for turning & filling & hand sew the opening once stuffed. You may be able to find a pattern to get it exact....See MoreDo you prefer full/karate chop pillows or smooth?
Comments (50)I think it depends on the sofa size/seat depth. We manufacture sofas with as much as 25" seat depth so that large pillows can be added, and we display them with the karate chop. Lately, however, I think we are trying to offer sofas that do not require as many pillows, and that is my own personal preference, but I do not make the final decision. I also think it is more of a 1970s or 1980s look, but don't tell my boss. On the other hand, I used to make oversized silk pillows for my mother, and she put the karate chop on them because of the way I filled them, but that was back in the 1980s. She put them in ther living room, which was never used except for Christmas....See MoreMy Pillow, anyone use one?
Comments (46)I'm disappointed! After reading Lukkiirish's post about the Coop Home Goods pillow and doing some further reading, I was all set to order one. But I remembered that memory foam hardens in cold temperatures and softens when warm--and my bedroom is unheated. Sure enough, I found reports of the pillow getting hard in a chilly room. That would not be good. I stayed in a hotel recently, and was surprised to find I loved the pillow. It seemed to be filled with shredded foam, and it might have been similar to the Coop Home Goods pillow. It felt great, but the room was fairly warm. I've used down pillows my whole life, but lately I've been dissatisfied with them. I have several, and the one I tend to choose most often is actually two down pillows (old, tired ones) zipped into a pillow protector together. It's time for a change....See MoreI want to make my own pillow
Comments (17)Raee, I've always slept with 2 pillows. The only time I sleep with one, is if I toss and turn and can't sleep and get frustrated and even try sleeping on my stomach. Then I toss out one pillow. But since I can't sleep on my stomach, I go back to 2 pillows. I buy mine at Costco. At $19 for 2, I can afford to replace them every couple of years. Costco also sells those gel pillows for $20. I'll have to see if they have one opened so I can squeeze it next time I go. Sleep Country sells the same pillows for $40.....I heard a gentleman say that he'd just bought one at Sleep Country when he saw them at Costco....See MoreAlisande
