Oh Demi, you are my kindred spirit. I relate so well to your tears over that sofa. That being said, I have had to force myself to let items leave my capable hands. I felt as though it was my duty to keep the items left behind by my entire deceased family. I have items from three aunts, a mother and father, a first cousin and a sister. Did I mention that my aunts saved everything that shined? Sigh. I had quite a collection of very well cared for and loved antiques. I have managed to give a few things away, but I still do not have the ability to rid myself of the bulk of it. This situation is not like yours. You have one lovely item, that I am sure will find someone to care and love it. Me? Well, my situation requires purging and I know it. This summer for sure. All of these keepsakes are not the memories of my husband and sons and it is unfair to make them live buried by some of these things. Heck, some of it I don't even remember seeing at my relatives' houses! Like you, everyone knew that I was the sentimentalist and kept giving me stuff. We both need to be selective. Let's repeat the mantra: You can't keep everything. As I said, this summer for sure.

Patty - thanks for your perspective! We do need the lamps as they are arranged, because we use them at different times - usually not all at once. And no, the room doesn't feel like a Starbucks with a small chair in the corner; in fact, it feels perfect and complete with that chair there. I'm really excited that the new chair has already shipped and should be here on Saturday. Last night I arranged the books on the shelves and am amazed at how few books we actually have in contrast to the space now available to put them on! I love the look though. I especially love that we can now easily locate our reading material. In our previous home the books were scattered all over the place - upstairs, downstairs, and all points in between. I really like storing them in one central location. I know I do tackle and complete projects quickly. I just can't stand to have things that I want to do and not do them if the budget permits. Having recently closed on our old home, we are in a better position to move forward on the new house. DH really can't stand unfinished projects, and actually stresses when things aren't worked to completion. So that kinda works to my advantage as well. ;-) I know we all do things differently though, at our own pace. There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking one's time! Anitamo, thanks for asking about our kitchen cabinets. That job has been completed, and they look fantastic. A crew came out and pretty much dismantled the kitchen, rebuilt a few things and redid the finish on the cabinets. We are very pleased with the way they addressed the problem.

Seed donations of all types wanted for virtual seed bank. We can use everything, even seeds that are hybrids( they will be distributed solely for eating), seeds that are even several years old can be used. I have included a bit of information below that discribes what I am doing. Please also feel free to join! I would like to share with you a new seed library/seed trading group I have created. Unfortunately at this time it is only open to members of the USA. Every skill level of gardener is welcome from beginners to advanced. It’s a family friendly group so parents are welcome to have their kids participate with them. I have quiet a few years experience with container gardening everything from tomatoes, peppers,flowers,cucumbers,beans and more. So if your limited on space that’s definitely an option that I can help with. How it works: I will be keeping a collection of seeds that will be open for you to borrow from. You send in a self addressed stamped envelope to me and I fill your request for whatever variety you want to grow. You then plant the variety/varieties you picked out. After the plants mature, you simply send back some of the seed you harvest ( to restock the library’s supply for others) and you keep some to plant the following year or trade with others for different varieties. If you have a bad season, no harm no foul you are welcome to try again. My main goals are: 1)To allow people access to varieties they may have never heard of. 2) To help people get involved in seed saving to be more self sufficient ( and save mone 3) Preserve the genetic variation in plants by helping a variety of people learn to save seed. 4) To create a group where everyone feels welcome and can learn together. https://m.facebook.com/groups/316927732294809?ref=bookmarks&soft=search
