I feel your struggle! I am always overwhelmed by pillow because I love so many.

My avatar is a needlepoint pillow I fell in love with years ago. Pretty sure it is the most I've ever spent on a pillow but she still makes me smile all these years later. She really doesn't fit my home -- but she fits me.

Feathers, can't wait to see. Etsy can be challenging, esp with all the open tabs and as said here before, the search function needs improving.

I feel your pain. When I was searching for the perfect screened porch pillows, I had a ton saved on Etsy. Love the ones I selected (pattern on both sides). Then I had to do it again for my sister's screened porch, then her MBR.

I paid more attention this time to Etsy's search results, and it's obvious why there are growing complaints from sellers.

Allison, I found few sellers who offered patterns on both sides. I have some pillows purchased from Etsy a few years ago, made from vintage rugs that are one sided. It wouldn't have been feasible to do both sides, obviously, and they chose lovely complementary fabrics for the back. But many sellers using regular fabrics aren't offering the patterns on both sides--maybe I didn't use the correct search terms.

Several years ago, I had a Moroccan rug that I loved, but wasn't using as a rug. I had a local seamstress make pillow covers from it, and I had no idea at the time how skilled she was.

Yes, it is harder to find the nicer fabric on both side, but you can always message the seller. Many are willing to do custom orders.

I purchased two vintage rug pillows for the bunk room beds. One sided, but the fabric on the back is the right color and fine for that room (and doesn't show anyway). They are perfect. I did upgrade my order for the pair of Tibetian lamb pillows to double sided, also for the bunk room, because that is what I wanted. Love love them.

Having a local source for your Moroccan rug pillows was golden.

I gave DD2 one of my rugs that I purchased and used for our last house. It was on the thin side, then a sick cat urinated on it, so I had it cleaned. Came back even thinner. She ordered frames from C&B and framed two large pieces. Neither of us saw using it on the floor in the future, and it looks so good framed in their foyer.

Most of the pillows in my house are from Etsy. I save the shops where I’ve found nice pillows in my “Favorites” and then whenever I’m looking for new pillows, I check those shops first. It helps to narrow down the options, and sometimes the ”you may also like” stuff that shows up at the bottom of the page also helps.

I believe we should start a pillow lending library. I have so many in inventory. Yes they can be expensive but imho you can always tell the chesp HG ones , of which i have several . Good luck!

Feathers you are not alone. Slow decision making is how I roll and sometimes it leads into *non-decision* decisions. Who am I kidding? Sometimes? Ha! I have a love/hate relationship with Etsy leaning more towards hate. The complaints from sellers (one of whom was my SIL) trouble me a lot. OTOH the concept of supporting a cottage business with a product I would otherwise never see is hard to resist.

edit to add that I am down an Etsy rabbit hole on camel stool cushions. yikes.

I totally sympathize. I've been hemming and hawing about my powder room for weeks. I finally told myself a couple of days ago that I WILL buy a 3 x 5 rug for the space. I've been looking for hours for the past two days. Nothing.

We should probably also have a plate lending library, too.

I'm another who has quite a collection of pillow covers. I like to change out some of my pillows a couple times a year. I have bought on Etsy and have been pleased. I refuse to buy a pillow that is not backed in same fabric (other than tapestry/rug/rug, etc.). I have yet to deal with an Etsy seller that won't accommodate me. There is generally an upcharge. I also have an upholstery guy who is WONDERFUL. An older man, retired, who has a small upholstery shop at his home. He has done a couple of pieces of furniture for me and when I asked him about pillows, he said $16 for a 20x20, corded and zipper, cover. Holy cow! I like choosing my own fabrics. However, in my area, we have very few fabric shops anymore, even in the big cities near me. There are lots of on-line fabric shops and so that leads to another rabbit hole, LOL. I keep an envelope of fabric samples I have ordered.

Jojo, In Maine, where our close friends/neighbors are only seasonal, we actually have a shared google doc with spices and kitchen gadgets, so we can borrow from one another.

Oh, boy. Pillows. Sigh.

I’m a pillow fanatic and pillow shopping is a habit I’m trying to break (but I need one more first).

I have so many pillows favorited on Etsy. But I get them from lots and lots of other places, too.

Sometimes I narrow it down by subject … horse pillows, Ikat, Kilim, block print, cowboy cat, etc, and by color and size. Sometimes I just jump in with no filters and look at pillows until my eyes glaze over and my DH slowly takes my iPad from me until I come to.

We just ordered/ received some new patio furniture. Now the hard part… finding pillows. Would appreciate any help with Etsy people that do pillows, especially if you can choose the fabric. Thank you!
