Size of backsplash tile for kitchen
Comments (4)Hi Kate! Can't wait to see what you end up with since we have the same granite. We ordered our tile long, long ago but there was a back order issue and it finally came in a few weeks ago. Now we are trying to get an installer. It is definitely not a priority for them as it is a small job. Installer may have some time next week but is not promising anything. We ended up with 2x4 subway tile (light tan with some subtle shade variation) - ours is a matte finish and we are not doing any type of decorative borders - keeping it simple. Will post a picture when it is up. Stacey...See MoreKitchen backsplash height, existing 4" backsplash, and ending dilemma
Comments (9)I have a similar question five years later: Is the 4" matching back splash now out of style? And how long will it stay out of style? Doubt that it would be possible to get a full matching back splash 14 years after the home was built. I am considering removing the 4" back splash and going with a complementary tile or, perhaps, a colorful wallpaper. Thoughts as to how long the short back spash will stay out of style? (I'm old enough to remember bell bottoms - the first time they were in style.)...See MoreSize of herringbone tile for kitchen backsplash?
Comments (10)This is for a new house. Yes 3 x 6 is nice but do you think it is too chunky? 2 x 6 better? Beveled or flat white tile? White grout or light beige or light grey grout? Our cabinets will be white, counters will be Silestone iconic white (bright white), stainless appliances. On a related issue, as an alternative, what about a basketweave/trellis/lattice tile? 3D would be nice to add texture. Anyone know about the arched white whisper herringbone/basketweave tile? Any photos of something like this would be nice. Thanks! T...See MoreNeed quick help with kitchen backsplash tile size!
Comments (6)Thank you all for the comments. Sorry for the delay in responding, but I've been a bit out of touch. I did end up going with the larger tiles and it turned out great. Thanks for your concerns regarding the color, but my wife and I had previously looked at different colors and decided we did still prefer the gray to anything else we looked at. She was very surprised and loves it. Thanks again!...See MorePaula Moggio
