Are my Chairs too Short?

I just bought new dining chairs, but they are shorter than I expected. Is there some type of rule on the height ratio when it comes to the table and chairs? If so, is there a product to increase the height of the chairs. I've seen risers but they all seem to be for chairs with thicker legs.

What part is too short? The seat height?

It should be comfortable to eat at without feeling like you are a short kid at the grownup table!

You need a higher back. But...just pull them back further from the table and see how that looks.

That doesn't sound right at all. Are you sure they're even Shasta daisies, let alone the cultivar 'Alaska'? Maybe they're something else? Although exactly what looks like a Shasta daisy flower and only grows 1-3 inches tall escapes me. There are some plant growth regulators available to commercial growers that can stunt a plant. Back when it was first introduced and people didn't know all of the ins and outs of it, the chemical with the brand name Bonzi was notorious for producing impatiens, petunias, and other bedding plants that would stay stunted permanently at a few inches tall and never grow for the consumer. But really, I'm at a loss over this one. Could they maybe be Bellis (English Daisy?). Photos would help.

Thanks everyone! I still like it. :) Eileen - A good multivitamin and B I always thought were very good for hair. I take both. I attached a link with more info. on more specific vitamins and minerals. I will say, like anything else, I don't believe all vitamins are created equal. Sounds like not all of your hair was lost? That's good it's growing back but more importantly it's great you're doing much better. :) *I have no idea what vitamins they have on that site or how they are. Instead of the cord, you depress a button in the center of the bottom rail and hold the button down as you raise the shade. Your muscles are doing the lifting, the button allows them to lift. HD said I should "take this up with my salesperson" but I asked to escalate. I feel it is a matter of integrity-- if one manufactures and sells a product, it should be possible for it to function as intended. I'm hoping so much that they'll switch them to the standard cord.

Cut out your sink please and drill for your faucet hole, pulling it as far forward as possible. Center the faucet hole in a power miter box saw and cut through it. Cut a matching piece that compensates for the saw kerf and the missing 1/4", glue it in place, and sand to flush. That far back and covered by the faucet escutcheon, the faucet itself, and the backsplash tile, you'll hardly be able to see the patch.

That's a very good question!

It can be so uncomfortable if chairs are too low or too high.

Do you feel like your arms are too high when you are sitting in the chairs and resting them on the table?

Thank you all for your messages. The seats heights are fine. Its the chair backs im worried about. I just dont want it to look tacky. I will try eld6161 idea and pull the chairs back a touch!

hahahah I think that so few understood your concern pretty much answers you question. No. For casual eating area low backed chairs do not look tacky.

And what you are probably seeing is the fact that you need to finish the space - rugs, art, all the chairs in place, etc. With lower ceilings short chairs are a great way to keep it from feeling confined. With taller ceilings you sometimes need the higher backed chairs to fill the space. I like how you repeated the color of the legs w your decor because that color w the floor and table base seemed off. But not if you repeat it and make it look intentional like you did.
