Who was asking about peeling eggs?

Because I can’t use the search function worth a darn. Anyway, I saw a trick for peeling eggs, that you do BEFORE you boil the egg. You tap the large end of the egg lightly, lightly, with the back of a spoon. As you tap, you will hear the sound of the tap suddenly ”ping”. Stop tapping. Supposedly what has happened is that the membrane inside has broken, and the egg will be easier to peel later. Or something like that. Boil the egg as you normally would.

My result? Well, I undercooked my two eggs, so I didn’t make egg salad, but they were much easier to peel! I always have trouble, and had much less trouble and a cleaner peel, despite my undercooking the eggs. (I know what I did wrong there, it had nothing to do with the tapping tip.)
