For single adults and/or for kids? So for guests? In that case - perhaps not being closely related - I wouldn't want my twin bed to be sooo close to the other bed. How about having one bed on each side of the room under those climbing walls the second photo shows? And then a desk like table from wall to wall with one comfortable chair under that window with the two parts so close together. In that case it is not a problem either if the beds are sticking out a bit. On the desk a nice desk lamp and a stack of interesting magazines. Be sure to have lots of outfits for all those laptops, tablets and cell phones to be charged. Above the long wall of the beds, so on each side, a long shelf, to put up some fun short story books and art. Under each shelf a small lamp on the wall for some in-bed reading. Nice rug to make it look even more cozy. Be sure to put something up on at least one window to keep mosquitos out, so one can have fresh air in the room without being bitten. A few of those in the room can destroy any sleepover. I'd say that window on the first picture would be fine for that.

The assymetry of bed and tv would drive me crazy. Could your budget allow for a sliding door like this one? I’d paint hardware silver to blend better with your room as others suggested, remove panels, keep headboard or remove headboard/footboard and keep panels. Both is overkill. Personally, I’d remove head/footboards b/c your wall panels are very well made. And yes I’d add one more row. Not two b/c it would remind me of a mental ward cell with the cushioned panels (too much paneling)

This is an idea I saw in Architectural Digest years ago and used in my own house. Build a window frame around a mirror and treat as a window; placing it equidistant from the wall as current window is from its wall. Use the same window treatment as your real windows and position your bed in the middle of your two windows.

I'd just use a very simple roman shade that blends with your wall color. Then place a piece of art above the left side of the headboard. Drapes that need to be opened and closed aren't very functional behind a bed and dresser.
