BM Silvery Moon (1604) is in the blue/green color family, so that may work if it doesn't go blue in your home. Silvery Moon (1461) seems a bit dark for what you want. You could try them and see how they work in your room.

I have Vancouver Day from C2 in my whole main living space I just repaited after 14 yrs and used the same again just a really pale real gray no undertone of anything else . You can get it color matched with BM

Have you selected your flooring, cabinets and countertops? We don't see color independently, we see it in comparison to other surrounding colors.

The two center squares below are the same color, but look different based on the surrounding colors.

So will the color look gray or blue or green or purple next to your kitchen cabinets or next to your flooring is a complete guess without actually testing the colors next to the flooring and cabinets.

grays are very tricky, and will change as some of the pros have mentioned on here depending on surrounding , lighting etc.

. I also have horizon in a bathroom and paper white in our office. both light grays and look very pretty

I am currently trying to choose a very pale gray for oir entry / hallways, and neither horizon or paper white dont work- one is too purple , the , other leans green. different areas of the house shiw color differently

Yes, test, but not the way that's shown above. You can't get a good feel of how the color will look by using those small pieces all next to each other. They need room--use larger samples.

Larger samples and white behind them or around them. Otherwise you get the effect that Jennifer Hogan showed us. To me, Gray Cloud is what most people call gray, but it does depend on what else is in the room and the lighting. It is a blue gray, so once it is all over the wall you may see blue. Grays can shift and show a color you wouldn’t expect.

Thank you so much! So I have been testing out colors trying to figure out the right one. Our cabinets are white wolf so a basic white not super bright but white. The floors are oak with natural finish. We have some natural light in parts of the house but not all. Our coach has a tan slipcover and a white slipcover depending on the seaosn. We use blue coasdtal accents, as our entertainment unit and furntire has hints of blue as well. This color will go up our staircase into our loft and the stairs and loft have no windows so that is why I am trying to stay light. Right now I am trying to decide between BM Metro Gray, BM Sterling and BM Shoreline. Any feedback or experience with any of those?

Or benjamin moore gray tint? Or Silver bells? My goodness this is hard

i had shoerlone in a barhroom. Pretty light gray. Can lean purple undertone depending on the room/ lighting .

again, you have to really test it in your home in its space. I know its rough and overwheling

Thanks so much! I am in Florida having to choose colors for the NJ house from here with just samples and pcitures to go on and my contractor needs my color choices asap. So this decision is much harder then I thought. i feel like I just need to make a safe conservative choice for the living spaces since our house isnt that big and has some areas without natual light. Maybe gray tint since it is pale and not s ton of undertones would be the best choice?

If you are in Florida and you need to select photos without being physically in the space, you just need to select something and not agonize over it. Just pick one of the pale grays you like and call it a day, because there is no one who can assure you of the perfect color. Once you move in you can repaint if the color bothers you.

My husband thinks the gray tint is too pale. So might stick with the metro gray. Hoping thats a good safe choice ? Stuck between gray tint and metro gray right now

After looking at Greytint, I would pick Metro Gray. I agree with your husband that Greytint is very pale, and also it looks like it could go blue; Metro looks more neutral.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there is not one perfect color for a space, but several options that could work. The wall color is but one aspect of the room, and it's the background. Once you start adding furnishings, window and floor coverings, they will become the dominant features.

Are you sure you want grey paint in an area that is grey and wet-cold 6 months out of the year (and many nights in the summer, too)? A warm white might do you better and compliment the surrounding landscape depending on where you are. (I hail from Monmouth County).

Just because you have gray paint on the walls doesn't mean that your rooms will look cold and damp. As I mentioned before, wall paint is a background, and you can add beautiful color in furnishings.

Yes we are in Monmouth County as well but this is our vacation home so we are up mostly just in the summer months. We plan to decorate it with a laid back coastal vibe so I think gray is our first choice. Was just having a hard time deciding on which one to choose. Thanks so much for all of the great feedback
