Flooring Design Dilemma

Please help me choose flooring color

last year

Please provide brand name and color you think will look nice. We would like a minimum 20 mil wear layer luxury vinyl. It will be in all the rooms shown below

PS........kitchen crown is NOT done yet..........you can't believe all the negative comments I get about not finishing cabinets. We will finish soon :)

Thanks everyone! I didn't think it would so difficult to choose floor tile, wow! All the tiles I showed are porcelain by Surface Art. Individually, I prefer the travertine and slate look ones BUT I think we have so much going on in the kitchen that I think the two quartz-look ones (light grey & dark grey) are the better choices overall for our space. The problem is I wish there were an option that was halfway between the two grey colors! I do like how the dark quartz looks with our other choices, but am having trouble envisioning it in the entire space and am concerned it's dark enough that it would show every little speck and crumb. The light one seems a bit too light, and seems to tend to the blue side at some times of day. I'm heading back to the tile shop now to see if there's an in between option in another tile brand... Linelle -- our cabinets are through a local shop. The name of the stain is "Late Harvest" (on rustic beech, it looks a lot like natural cherry color) and the paint is "shoji white". Whatever you do, I'd strongly suggest NOT sanding what you have and staining that light/natural. Even though you sand through 100% of the existing stain, it never really takes the light stain that well, even with conditioner. Also, sometime's you'll notice the darker in the cracks, where it bled down but didn't get sanded. Floor guys may tell you otherwise, but really caution against this. We had dark floors, added light upstairs and had the existing stuff sanded and stained light and it just looks washed out to me. Thats with a few coats of stain. Wife has never let me live that one down. The cost of re-do'ing it is one thing. Much worse is having to basically move out of the house again. People cautioned us about going with wood floors upstairs with kids due to noise. That really hasn't been a problem for us and we like the wood. Just don't kid yourself that doing wood is going to be 30% more than good carpet. After the floors are done, then you start the rug shopping! Which isn't bad, but isn't cheap. Good Luck!

Here's the final result with #3 (50% classic gray and 50% weathered oak). The pictures vary depending on the angle/lighting and may not do it justice, it looks great to us, nice neutral grey/brown color that isn't too dark (or too light). Some "pink" hues may just barely show from the red oak but it's only after I analyzed the pictures on my computer that this occurred to me, in real life it's not something we personally see. Thanks for everyone's input.

Hi there - thank you for posting! For some added curb appeal, definitely update the color of the garage, front door and two peaks in the front. Make the peaks a fresh, bright white like PPG's Delicate White. The front door and garage door would benefit from a nice, rich navy/gray - like PPG's Silver Blueberry. Best, Meghan

We’ve been really really pleased with Lifeproof in Dusk Cherry, at Home Depot. Get an installer with a good eye to open several boxes at a time to vary the patterns and it’ll look much better than LP’s product photos.

There are so many choices, but only you know what makes your heart sing.

What colors do you love. Do you want white and bright or do you want to bring in more warmth, or do you want something more dramatic using darker flooring against the white bath and kitchen. Do you like gray tones? We are really at the tail end of the gray trend, but I have never cared what other people are doing and believe we should all use the colors we love rather than the colors that are popular.

Do you love the colors of your walls - do you want something that works with the wall color?

Hi @Diana Tupper! I came here to see what your flooring choices were but also noticed that you may have the same fridge I just ordered! Is it the Samsung w/ the family hub and beverage center? How do you like it??

@decisionsarehard We love it. The Alexa feature is wonderful, otherwise, we don't use the screen for much more. If there is one with the beverage center without the screen, I'd save some money and go for that one. @Diana Tupper Thanks so much! Great to know. That floor is beautiful! I feel ya, waiting is agonizing. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum - our contractor is moving SO FAST and its hard to make such big decisions this quickly. Good problem to have though, I guess. I've heard the hororr stories.
