Unique Green Yellow ware bowl need ID help
Comments (7)touche, I believe your pottery bowl is by Ransbottom Pottery, now known as Robinson Ransbottom Pottery of Roseville Ohio (or RRP). The crown is an older mark. An ebay auction lists it as an early 1900's mark. I have a similar bowl that I researched a few years ago and came up with pretty much that same time frame. My bowl and reference books are packed away right now, but if you search Robinson Ransbottom or RRP you will likely find more information. There are a couple of auctions on ebay right now that have that mark. I have a "thing" for old pottery bowls, not an expert by any means. Any chance we can see a picture of the rest of your bowls? Comments (9)Thanks Linda, the Gallo? plate doesn't appear to be 'hand painted' unless they did that before glazing since surface is smooth, usually I see hand painting applied last. front is a funky, ick multi color skinny rooster. I take it you cant make out the 2 letters above ITALY either. 2nd photo is squared center base framed by a rounded square shape 8" diameter only 1/2" deep...maybe luncheon, found 12 of these-do you think maybe Mid cent(not a mark one)? As far as the swirl bowl (I did use it for tulips last spring&floated roses also)...is the #10 representative of anything? I've seen some Hazel Atlas stuff with numbers but cant find this one which I do like. And as for the goblets...I do like these, have a few all clear & 6 pink. I'll search Fostoria & Cambridge-keeping these. Family seemed to recycle alot of this old stuff(I mean like the depression era stuff) NOT the rooster. Just want to make sure I'm not discarding anything that may be worth anything. I do like dating things, makes me think what life or hands it passed through prior. Thanks again...See More1980s redo w/ spyder soapstone/barn wood island/vintage lights
Comments (11)Have you considered adding a hint of color in your bs tile - perhaps something with a touch of green and grey to compliment the stone? The vitrail series from fireclay tile is available in many glazes and sizes, and I think it would go well with the overall feel you've created, a kind of refined rustic chic. Here are some of the colors you might consider, perhaps in a 2" x 6" or 3" x 12" tile. Comments (34)Hi marcolo, yes that is Theresse's faucet- absolutely perfect in her kitchen and even with my hesitation about it's quirks, I always covet hers when I see her photos! The showroom model I played with was not live, so I could not experience full functionality, these are just my impressions. I expected to be able to just easily slide the sprayer out and down from the neck and retract it back when I'm done -- like traditional pull out/pull down faucets I've experienced. The Jaclo seemed to want you to lift the handspray up and off. (Maybe there is an easier trick?) The faucet neck is like a big tray--you lift off the flexible tube sprayer, move the tube around the neck to use, and then when done you need to lift the tubing up, line it back up with the tray, and push it back down into place securing the hand spray mechanism. My memory is that there was no button on the sprayer attachment. I believe the spray pattern could be adjusted, though and if I remember correctly the salesperson explained that you could twist the head of the sprayer mechanism to change flow pattern. If that were true-maybe Theresse will chime in?-it seems very inconvenient to need two hands to adjust your aeration pattern when you just need to rinse off some berries or whatever. (see link below for davidro's comment about potential to accidentally spray yourself with this faucet, too. I thought this was what he was referring to since there is no "pause" button on the sprayer.) It seems like you'd have to think about this and adjust your spray before the water was on, which seems difficult if you can't see the spray... The part of the sprayer that you hold felt a bit awkwardly small. It looks very streamlined, but in my hand I almost wanted to hold more like you would a pencil (that is to say, with my fingers) rather than grasping with my whole hand. (It's not a wall mount--and I didn't select it because the sprayer retracted too loudly--but for comparison ergonomically the best pull down hand sprayer I played with--my girlfriend just got one so I've also used it live now--is the Grohe Bridgeford faucet. Extremely comfortable to hold/grip/well-designed to fit in your hand. The opposite of holding the Jaclo handsprayer which felt too...delicate?) I feel like I'm frequently mentioning aging in place/arthritis/carpal tunnel considerations in kitchen planning, but I'll say here too, in my opinion the Jaclo would not be a good choice if any of those issues are a concern. Trying to describe all these little things here undoubtedly makes them seem like a bigger problem then they are. And all that said, for the functionality of even having an integrated wall mount sprayer--not to mention the cool/sexy factor-- I think the faucet is still something worth investigating.
