I’m no pro, but I’m thinking that your bathroom is gorgeous and a great neutral backdrop! (I’m a renter with a dark, Tuscan like bath ugh) I wish I could help with specifics, but I think you can bring in some color here - rugs, wall art. Personally I like a white or neutral shower curtain but you could probably do color there too. I think the rug doesn’t add any personality. I hope some experienced people chime in for you. It’s a great bathroom 👍🏻

What a great bathroom!! And that mirror!! Decorating this room should be fun so take a breath & relax! The floor is great - either black or dark navy which are both great base for other colors. What are your faves? brights or pales? Either will work. Do you already have a great art / picture you want to hang above towel bar? Either start with favorite color tones or pick a color from the art. Treat the floor as a solid color as far as patterns for the shower curtain go. That is, a pattern will work but try to have the dark color in floor included in shower curtain pattern. I’d get a fabric curtain with a clear plastic one to hang inside the tub - the nice fabric one always outside the tub & the plastic one to keep fabric clean & water inside. The brushed nickel rod you got is perfect bc the bath fixtures are silver. I’d get 2 rugs - one for in front of sink the other in front of tub & either white that’s in floor or a bright or pale color you’re usingl No black as it will be @#$@ to keep clean! Is that mirror a door that opens with storage behind? I see 2 doors inside bath so maybe you have lots of storage. If something needed for makeup etc. check sites like Wayfair for small, freestanding, white bath storage. Measure width & height carefully to see what will fit in corner under sink & towel ring.

Do you have permission to hang the curved rod? You realize that those are screwed into the wall or in this case into the tile.

The way to learn about decorating is trying out your ideas and finding which ones work for you and which ones don’t. That doesn’t make you a failure. You might just find a talent. Be true to yourself in color choices and experimentation of furniture arrangement. Of course, some of these won’t look good, but you will evolve in your taste and ability. Just don’t spend lots of money in the beginning

And thank you all very much! There’s actually plenty of storage in this bathroom because there’s a closet with tons of room and shelving, the mirror does not open up unfortunately.

there’s also 3 open wall spaces all together, one above the toilet, one above the towel rack & then another above the towel rack behind the entry door (not pictured). The 2nd/not shown towel rack space looks identical to the pictured towel rack space by the tub.

Is your new rod a tension rod? If so, or if you're allowed to drill into the tile, hang it higher. It's difficult to find longer decorative shower curtains to fit tubs. But you can often find stall size longer curtains, so check for those first. If not wide enough, just get two. If you can't find something you like, what I have done sometimes is bought hooks that are double so you can hang a decorative curtain outside the tub and a waterproof curtain inside the tub. Plain waterproof curtains in longer sizes are easier to find. Then look at regular window curtains for the decorative one. They are longer and the styles are endless. You might not find one wide enough, but just buy two and hang them side by side, overlap if necessary for them to hang correctly. Or join them with iron-on tape or stitch them. Be sure to get grommet top, not rod pocket.

If the rug is not real fur, if it fits lengthwise between the wall and toilet, I might put it in front of the sink and get something smaller for by the tub that will fit lengthwise in front of the tub. Lift it and hang it on the edge of the tub between showers.

You can do black and white or almost any color you want because what's there is so neutral.

You seem like you're not sure what you actually want. My suggestion is to stop shopping for a moment and spend some time looking through inspiration photos to see what type of result you're after. You can search on Houzz for "bathrooms with black and white floor tiles" to get started - start saving those that you like more than others, and then distill down the common features that you like best about them. Many of those can likely be replicated pretty easily. Bathrooms should be functional - spend some time using the space to make sure it meets your needs for usage. If not, solve those problems first. As an example - is that mat a bath mat? If you get it wet, does it dry out sufficiently? Is it non-slip? You may want to consider replacing it with an actual bathmat if not. Then start switching things like the shower curtain, towels and other accessories to achieve the look you are after.
