Edmunds Roses Slow Shipment of my Roses

last year

This is the 2nd year that I have made a substantial order with Edmunds Roses.

I must admit that I am a bit put off by their slow ability to get my roses to me this year...

I have contacted Customer Service three-times, and three-times I've been told that my order would be shipped out the next week.......well it hasn't. I'm in Zone 7, New Jersey - the roses should have been delivered before the end of March. I'm still waiting ....

This is the last year I will be ordering from Edmunds Roses!

Are there any other mail-order rose nurseries out there that sell roses ?

Patrick I am sorry to hear you are having a very rough time with your rose deliveries this year. I remember reading your David Austin roses didn’t come with a receipt and such and now Edmunds is delayed. For me Austins box is always the same with the receipt in an outside pocket. I placed two separate orders with Edmunds this year and they both arrived in good time (I am in zone 7b). What did Edmunds say when you talked to them?

If you would like to try other great mail order places where you can choose you shipping date try Heirloom roses, high country roses, Petals from the Past and the Antique rose emporium. There are several others but these are some I used regularly. Good luck with your future orders.

If you aren’t wanting bands, I second Antique Rose Emporium-they are excellent

Plant or pot?!? My Edmunds Roses came today!

Okay thanks guys, mine are now potted up and in my three sided window area. I will bring them outside when it is over freezing for a few days in a row, lol! I am nervous about potting them up although I don't know why. I did use a good potting soil. I guess only time will tell. I potted up my Palatine roses that came in Nov. 2013, wintered them inside and planted them in the ground in spring 2014 and they are fine but I did have one from that batch that didn't leaf out so was a loss (Philatelie) -- ugh, so nervous about these. In pots I have Neil Diamond, Raspberry Cream Twirl Climber, and Rio Samba. I NEED Neil Diamond to make it, I think I am most excited about that one. :) Andrea

I ordered roses that don't attract JB's so that I could add these to the daylily beds. I made lots of room last year so that this could be done. No matter how much I like daylilies and my other plants nothing out shines a rose bush. It's time to get over RRD, JB's, rose midge, thrips and spider mites. Kristine, finally, I'm back with an update on why Edmunds hasn't been able to ship to Idaho for the past seven years. Here's what Customer Service told me: "Check with your county extension office." So what this really tells me is: 1. They aren't overly concerned that they've lost all Idaho customers for seven years, and 2. They have done something naughty that they don't want to admit to. It's kinda late to order this year but Witherspoon Rose Culture sells fantastic bareroots every spring with a date you choose. Also Palatine Roses has fantastic bareroots budded on multiflora rootstock. BUT you have to order VERY quick when they open their ordering. They sell out of most everything within 72 hrs. Regan Roses also has a great selection and are pretty quick on their delivery. If you want some own root roses, Roses Unlimited has a great selection.
