Custom chandelier that I designed with 12 arms, based on my original design with 8 arms and in Macassar ebony veneer. I took this photo in our warehouse.

Here is my original design, but this photo was taken for Architectural Digest and was featured in their magazine.

Thanks Raven and Annie - I wasn't sure how to arrange them. Can you believe they were at my local Shop Rite supermarket. What's even odder is that it's one of the smaller stores and they were not expensive - maybe $11 or so. I was surprised to see them and even happier when they lasted nearly 2 weeks. So often tubular flowers like that get all mushy at the bottom and you have to keep cutting the stems. On my next visit the flower lady was in and I asked her about them. She said it was the first time she had ever seen them in her order book so she thought she'd give them a try.

This is a painting that my sister-in-law's sister did for me. I had sent her a picture of a Martha Washington geranium that I took. She was sick at the time and so I sent her some of my photos of my flowers. Just a couple of months after I sent her the photos, this painting showed up at my house! I was stunned by how beautiful it was and how striking that it looked just like the photo. She has since passed away, so it makes the painting that much more precious to me.

Ooh - tsugajunkie just reminded me we didn't do architecture and the Milwaukee Art Museum is one fabulous example.

I took the photo at that angle to fit in those 'wings', which slowly move in sync with the sun to create shadows inside...

And I was also thinking we left out photograhy and graphic arts - maybe another round is called for?
