Mirror advice, please!
Comments (11)Hi, Amy -- That Tranby mirror is neat, but unfortunately too small. Dang it! We would have gone for the all mirror (no color) one because the shower is charcoal and tan/sand colored tiles, so the usual AlicePalace colors won't work in there. The bathroom color scheme follows our family room vibe, which is more earthy with strong black accents. This bathroom is adjacent to the family room, so I felt it needed to have some reference to the fam rm decorating scheme. The sink! We looked high and low for something that wasn't a vanity but still had drawers. A tall order, I tell you! It's called Hastings "Luce" and we bought the floor model from a local bathrooms specialty store (called "Splash"). It really solved the issue of what to put there. DH insisted he didn't want to be constantly hitting his toes on the bottom of the vanity. I just roll my eyes and shake my head. LOL Then the challenge was finding a faucet we both liked. Figures I couldn't possibly fall in love with anything inexpensive. This is by Dornbracht -- called Villeroy & Boch "Circles" and largely unavailable in the U.S. I had to get it off eBay. It's beautiful and I LOVE IT. I will like it even better when water actually comes out of it. :-) Thanks for your input!...See MoreOld mirror dilemma - Expert advice needed, please
Comments (21)dlm2000 - Masonite! That's the word I was looking for. Thank you for that information. I would have made a terrible mistake taking it off. If I hang it wide, can I still use one single nail in a stud? The good news is that I measured the wall space where I wanted to hang the mirror (the pocket door wall) and I think it will work. There appears to be a stud right at the end of the door and perfectly centered where I need it. Thanks sheesharee - It's simply elegant, IMO. Every time I was in that antique store, I was drawn to the mirror. Then the last time i saw it, I was with my daughter and casually mentioned that it was a great price for such a nice large mirror and I might buy it some day. She beat me too it. :) lindac - I was hoping you'd see this thread. Thanks for that information. If it's a newer mirror, it's been in the frame for quite a while. The nails are rusted. The hallway does need light, but the only thing to reflect off of it would be the overhead can lights. I have a mirror in just about all my rooms, too....See MoreNeed advice: horizontal vs. vertical mirrors over double vanity
Comments (17)Thank you everyone for your feedback! I hadn't thought of frame less but found the shape of Beverly's drawing (Beverly you are quite the artist!) in a frameless mirror for a really great price. Hopefully something like this will work?http://www.bellacor.com/productdetail/decor-wonderland-ssm1140-samson-frameless-bevel-mirror-613171.htm...See MoreAdvice please please please
Comments (4)What in the world was the builder thinking putting the fireplace at an angle like that facing the sliding doors? No one can enjoy it :( Your sofa alreach has a chaise, so why do you want an ottoman? Would a coffee table be more practical?...See More- N thanked Celery. Visualization, Rendering images
