Comments (6)Thanks for the ideas!! We ended up choosing the following frames. On the left, the unfinished wood frame is the one we chose for the master ensuite. The silver, thin one just to the right of it has hand-applied silver leaf. He will use the same treatment on the unfinished wood frame. On the right is the one are doing for the guest bathroom....See MoreWhat kind of pendants would you put here?
Comments (0)Hi there! I am about to move into a new home and would really like to change out these kitchen pendants. Since the tile/countertops/cabinets aren't the style I would have picked on my own, I am having trouble figuring out what kind of pendants would look good. What pendants would you put here?...See MoreWhat blinds/drapes/window treatments would you put here?
Comments (5)The dining room: Love the wall color, and I know you donâÂÂt want to hear this, but I love the color of the furniture. I think you could have an elegant, almost Gustavian look going on in there. I would change out the hardware to something in a brushed nickel finish. Love the chandy. I would want drapery panels in here, and would treat each window separately. Something like this might work, and would pair the rich wall color with the lighter finished furniture: audrey drape Then something simple for the chair seats: grace teal Try the trio of vases you have on the window seat in the FR as a centerpiece grouping on the DR table if you go with these fabrics. If you donâÂÂt want to use the cabinets for showing dishes, you could get some of the window wallpaper in a simple frost and cover the glass. etched glass wallpaper for windows Gathered sheer fabric is an alternative, but I am not sure that works with the style of the furniture. Or, take the cabinet out completely and use it in the sitting room as a bookcase. Replace it in the DR with another side piece, perhaps a solid wood piece in the finish color of the tabletop. I will say, tho, that I like the cabinet in the DR in part because it balances the height of the windows. For the sitting room, it is hard to say because we donâÂÂt know what the furniture or flooring will be like. But I would again think about panels, perhaps something in a textured linen or chenille, for a more casual and cozy feel. For the FR, I would like to see woven wood blinds or regular wood blinds to bring the floor color up to the window level. You could add fabric valances above the windows for some softness and color, and do matching or coordinating cushions on the window seats, and pillows for the sectional. You have a lovely home - how fun to have lots of great spaces to decorate....See MoreWhat kind of windows would work well here?
Comments (16)I can' imagine why a wood door warranty would be voided because of the size of the roof overhang. Who told you that? If it true, why would you be considering that door company? If you are concerned about weather protection, there are PVC, aluminum and fiberglass clad wood French doors available. Who told you swinging French door tend to leak? Compared to what? ... Sliding doors? Are you on the ocean or in a hurricane zone? What brand of door are you considering? This sounds like the same misinformation issue you're having with the warranty. I've put multiple French doors in a row with two steps down to a narrow walkway immediately outside of the doors with no roof overhang. If the view is important, casement windows are not a good option. For a horizontal view you should have wide windows. You could save a lot of money with a row of 4 large double-hung windows. If you have an architect involved, why aren't you getting better information?...See MoreLyn Nielson
