Comments (11)I just came across this Blue Limestone laid in a herringbone. this is gorgeous! right colors too. honestly, I'd wait until the cabs/countertop are in before deciding on a backsplash. you don't want to do a bright white subway tile. besides being completely overdone, I don't think a bright white would be the best pick for that countertop. I've never seen this quartz option installed, so I'm looking forward to seeing yours. since you want the mcm option, you could do a smaller hex, or something like a geometric design this one is pretty. and the right tone of gray. but you 'd need samples to see for sure https://www.tilebar.com/highwater-mist-polished-ceramic-tile.html what do you think of something like these? I would do a grayish/white, not a bright white I keep mentioning tilebar. go over there and look around. they have these gray tiles (comes in the pink too!) if you go w/a subway tile, do it in a stacked set lay out https://www.tilebar.com/portmore-gray-3x8-glazed-ceramic-tile.html Montauk Fog is popular. (home depot carries this under Ivy Hill. they have a bunch of the same tiles that Tilebar carries) if you search under their Gray tiles under Backsplash, you'll see all the options (at Tilebar) I like this one too. it's that grayish white, more of a matte. https://www.tilebar.com/diesel-camp-white-rock-4x12-ceramic-tile.html Here are the gray hex floor tiles. (5 samples for $5) https://www.tilebar.com/pergola-gray-12-5-hex-matte-porcelain-tile.html Look at the terrazzo look one! I like it https://www.tilebar.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=gray+hex+floor+tiles I've seen pics of this one. Love it because the paler stripes would match your wood flooring. this is really pretty installed. very mcm or comes like this here's that other tile I posted. comes in a gray with just a hint of blush. this would be so pretty https://www.tilebar.com/sasha-hex-gray-6-porcelain-hexagon-tile.html...See Morewould this be a good substitute for bedrosians Cloe tile?
Comments (15)Jolene. Tilebar has the Portmore, which is very similiar. (HomeDepot and Wayfair carry it under their IvyHill line) So you're building a new home and paying people to do the home like you want, and you aren't allowed to use certain tile? her tile guy will "only do certain tile" ?? sounds like her tile guy (and her) get a monetary incentive to use a certain company. If you purchase the tile yourself, w/your money on your dime, and have it at the new build, will they install it? How about you just don't do a backsplash, move in, and hire a tile person to install the tile you want? For your bathroom shower, I guess you'll have to pick something else. Or, advise your builder you want a diff tile contractor. This is so ridiculous. If I'm paying people to build my home, they better use the materials I want. (unless this is a tract home?? ) BTW, any further questions, please start your own post....See MoreBacksplash help! Tilebar Portmore White
Comments (8)I ended up getting Tilebar Montauk Sand Dune and I love the tile. i have received so many compliments. My perimeter counter is white quartzite any my island is Taj Mahal quartz. The Sand Dune compliments the island and since this a beach house the beige color palate works well. Portmore white was my second choice and would have looked good too. portmore and montauk are sumilar in style. i love the simplicity, texture, sheen and variation of both tiles...See Morebacksplash for oak + New Venetian gold granite- edited with more pics
Comments (17)the cabs are not oak. I can tell by looking at the wood. show me a better pic of the cabs Here's why you don't want to leave the 4" piece. same granite as yours. (you could do a darker color if you like. a charcoal color tile would actually look very nice w/your granite and the wood) for example, any ONE of these colors (not a mixture of all five!) would work w/your granite) give me a better pic showing countertop with the upper cabs in the pic. I can give you tile possiblities if you'd like. here's a quick one. Bedrosians Zenis 2x6 in Solar: removing the 4" backsplash is easy, score, gently pry. lots of how to videos when you tile, you'll get this look next to the granite top. BTW, this is a natural cherry cab w/a similar granite as yours. pretty w/warmer white tile, new hardware, and think about adding some glass to a few of your uppers. since you have taller upper doors, I'd pick a nice pull and not a knob. something like this would be perfect. you can do any finish you like. these gold handles would look very pretty w/the Bedrosains tile I posted above. same granite, 3x6 tile. (I prefer a longer tile like a 2x8, 2x10, or a 3x9) Botticino tumbled marble, very common tile w/this granite. take the one off the side if you can. if you dont' remove it, you'll get this look: someone mentioned lighting. this is why you don't want warm lights. makes everything look to gold/yellow. go 3500-4000K some neutral paint colors that work w/your granite...See MoreTJ
