HELP: Matte of Glossy White Subway Tile (Kitchen Backsplash)?
Comments (39)Kristina, try the bedrosians makoto line. they are matte, a slight variation and 2.5 X 10 https://www.bedrosians.com/en/product/detail/makoto-tile/?itemNo=DECMAKSHW2510M or the Cloe. exactly the size you want. they aren't completely matte, but not glossy either. the color varies a bit, but in the white or gray you shouldn't see a big diff https://www.bedrosians.com/en/product/detail/cloe-tile/?itemNo=DECCLOWHI28G no variation and completely matte, but these are 11" https://www.bedrosians.com/en/product/detail/clara-tile/?itemNo=100000799 https://www.bedrosians.com/en/product/detail/manhattan-mosaic/?itemNo=GLSMANCAS28G if you just want a plain matte white https://www.allmodern.com/wall-decor-mirrors/pdp/hull-soho-2-x-8-porcelain-subway-tile-a000841710.html glazed brick? https://www.tilebar.com/sample-cadenza-salt-cellar-2x9-clay-ceramic-subway-tile-for-wall.html 3x9 matte https://www.tilebar.com/kiln-white-3x9-matte-porcelain-tile.html or they do have a vintage matte clay tile, 2x9 https://www.tilebar.com/cadenza-stroke-vintage-white-matte-2x9-clay-tile.html https://www.tilebar.com/bayou-white-3x12-ceramic-tile.html These are on sale/closeout https://www.tilebar.com/calloway-white-3x10-matte-ceramic-tile.html tilebar has 5 samples for $5. order some of theirs...See MoreWhite cabinets with white backsplash too much?
Comments (21)ccwaters, true that crackle tile may stain, but that is why most manufacturers will recommend that crackle tile should be sealed. Do the research on what you are buying and how to properly care for it! I used a Pratt & Larson crackle and their specs stated the following: "All Crackle glazes in the RC and W line should be sealed to prevent water penetration and tile discoloration. Seal all crackle glazes with penetrating silicone sealer before and after grouting. Watercolor and RC glazes will continue to crackle over time. For long term maintenance we recommend resealing the crackled tiles every 3-6 months for the first year and every 6 months afterwards to further protect the glaze surface."...See MoreBacksplash selection help
Comments (52)just run them all vertical in that spot,, on this pic the cut the tiles in half and did that all the way across. you could do either if you have any left over granite, cut a piece to fit behind that spot. the other option is to find individual tiles in a larger size and stack them like this for your splash....See MoreHelp choosing backsplash and quartz for off white cabinets
Comments (9)it gets down to budget. QUARTZ GRANITE OR CORIAN ARE ALL different pricepoints Quartz counters are fabulous but expensive. Based on your info provided I would create a palette [ inspiration board] and start with the most that could be done here....first .look at wood look vinyl planks for a new floor.....what do you most desire for counters ? will there be an overhang ? likely a subway tile backsplash .........look for a directional sconce above the sink for some detail .....re: those vinyl floor planks...they have many textures and shades to mimic wood looks...so if you start w something that interests you for a new floor [bring home samples] then the counter options fall in line much more easily. But again.....only you know the budget you have at hand. It looks like the floor will go beyond to the dining area w four chairs......so measure ....but I think the planks would really fit in w a bit more modern feel as you state....See MoreMichele Wartell
