Matte or glossy backsplash tile? Have matte finish Corian counter
Comments (1)I had the same question - we have glossy granite and I decided to go with matte tiles, and people said it gives a good contrast similar to matte soapstone with glossy tile. It's really a matter of preference I think. Matte has a much more "quiet" look so if you like that, go for it. I think if you're doing a herringbone design it may look better with glossy tile. I can't remember who did it...I believe Mamadadapaige has a herringbone design with really nice glossy tile. I THINK she has matte soapstone....See Moreglossy vs matte: backsplash finish question
Comments (2)Thank you! Fori: I love your sassy sense of humor. Now let me ask you this: after I posted my question, I came to find out that a 3" x 6" glass subway tile is in our budget (but just by the skin of its teeth). That'd be too much sparkle, right? We're figuring ~45 square feet. We're doing fluorescent undercab lighting, so the light wouldn't "highlight" it much.
