What color window casing? (Cloud White or Simply White?) pic
Comments (4)Funny you should mention Cloud White and Simply White. Those are the two finalists for my cabinets paint. I currently have two sample doors painted in those colors propped up on my counter as I try to decide. Yes, SW is a hair lighter and brighter, but with variations of light even on two doors sitting next to one another, there's not a whole lot of difference. I daresay I could paint some doors a different color and most people wouldn't notice. I have no trim in my kitchen. The only place my cabs will come close to trim is where they abut baseboard from other areas. There is a visible difference (my baseboard is much whiter) but not enough to change either my cab or trim color. I wouldn't worry AT ALL if your cabs are one color and the trim is another, they look that much alike. JMHO...See MoreTrim color if Simply White is too stark?
Comments (5)I picked Simply White a couple years back when I got new hardwood and trim installed, so all my trim was painted white and then I had to paint my faux wood brown doors white too. BAM! It was sooooooooooooo white that I hated it for months. I looked like I put white out on my doors. So I thought the same thing - too stark. The color did finally grow on me though. Or maybe I just accepted it since I knew I wouldn't paint again lol... Mine is a Satin finish. Good luck......See MorePicking a ceiling color with BM Gray Owl walls & Simply White trim
Comments (2)oops, I just saw this & was going to suggest you add a little Grey Owl to white so that the ceiling wouldn't make the trim disappear. It sounds luscious!...See MoreWhat trim w/BM Simply White? Plus other urgent paint questions!
Comments (5)Thanks all! Glad to know I can stick w/all Simply White - I had a million other whites and griege colors but the SW almost glowed. We've expanded all the windows so I want to maximize the light-and-bright feel. At the same time I love color so it's a little hard for me to walk away from a chance to have a big bold paint color in every room. We'll have a lot of old Persian carpets plus some changing out furniture and linens so maybe that's where I'll go a little wilder. @Judy Graham, the window pictured is staying and is sized for egress. Originally there was a second window on the wall opposite the map that was removed when we added a new master suite. The plan called for a skylight but due to the truss structure it will have to be only 14" wide, smaller than originally anticipated. Overall the room feels a lot more compact than it did before (despite the fact that we were able to raise part of the ceiling in removing a dormer.) So I'm thinking hard about the paint here for keeping things bright....See MoreStefanie F
