Hardware placement
Comments (21)Since there is no right or wrong answer for hardware placement, you can't be wrong. You will be able to open and close your doors and drawers no matter where you place the pulls. Your gorgeous cabinets and countertops wil be the star players in the kitchen. The pulls just have a supporting role. The BB pulls are very nice and will look nice in your kitchen. I don't think anyone will walk into your kitchen and say, "those pulls should have been longer". While GW is very helpful, I think it sometimes cause us to fret about our choices too much. Hopefully by the time you read this you will have decided what you are going to do about your pulls and you are can relax a little. When things don't go the way I planned or something bad happens, I always try to take time out and make a list of things I am grateful for. It helps me keep things in perspective. I hope the last pieces of your remodel fall into place without further issues....See MorePlease help with hardware pull placement
Comments (9)Thanks everyone for your replies. I did as you suggested, gooster, and taped them to the cabinets. Surprisingly, they looked MUCH different on the cabinets than they do sitting on a counter top. I did not even notice that the tops had a convex curve to them ... I thought they were straight! And unfortunately, the light reflecting off them really accentuates the curve and it is not quite the look I was going for. So, it is back to the drawing board for me. For anyone else going through the knob/pull selection process, actually putting them up on the cabinet is extremely helpful. Even when my DH held them up to the cabinets, I did not notice that the top edge was curved outwards. Yes, they are still lovely pulls, just not the pulls for me. Sigh....See MoreAdvice please with kitchen hardware placement
Comments (0)I could really use some advice on where to place the vertical pulls on my upper cabinet doors and the few base cabinets that have doors, rather than drawers. My kitchen is contemporary. The Milano cabinets have slab doors and the pulls are Schaub Classico. I have read that with slab cabinets, the pull should be 2 ½" from the bottom edge and 1 ½" from the opening edge. My husband is using a template, which set the bottom of the pull at just 1 ¼" from the bottom edge. He has already put one pull on and placed it 1" from the opening side edge. I can't decide if this is okay or not. I would have preferred it to be a closer to the 2 ½" and 1 ½" advised, but he did this while I was out. Should we continue with the same placement for the other cabinets? Or should we go to the expense of ordering a new door? I don't know what that would cost, but we paid a fortune for this custom-made Plain and Fancy cabinetry, so I think even one door will be costly. Still better to pay that than spoil the look of the whole kitchen. I'm posting a stock photos of the hardware and cabinet, but I will add photos of our own work-in-progress kitchen later. Any advice will be greatly appreciated....See MoreHelp with Cabinet Hardware placement
Comments (2)I would not want to stand at the sink with the handle pull going into my belly when I lean over or catching my pocket when I move. Go with the finger pull. It's hardly noticeable and more functional....See Morejackowskib
