Question about moving rose (Dark Desire)

I have a very large, very thorny bush of Dark Desire. The blooms are beautiful and fragrant and it is a pretty healthy bush that repeats well. It is too big for it’s spot in the garden though and the dark gloominess of it is not really my cuppa tea.

My daughter’s friend is very goth and says she’d love to adopt my gloomy rose, but she lives in NE PA where it is two zones colder and I’m not sure how it will survive the move when it is already leafing out here.

Another part if me thinks I should keep the perfectly healthy rose and just move it to a different spot. i have a baby Flamenco Rosita (Ivor’s Rose) and Easy on the Eyes and I think a combination if those three roses would offset the gloominess.

Either way, this thorny beast if a rose will need to be moved. How do I prepare it to move? Should I hard prune it back now?

including some pics just because I’m so on the fence with this rose.
