Should I tell my friend her "Interior Decorator" is ripping her off?
Comments (46)Wow lots of heated opinions! But thanks for sharing them! It's interesting to hear all the different thought processes. Olychic: Ouch! We are very good friends, I just tend to overthink things! And I'm also just ridiculously curious about how people think so it's sort of fun for me to hear all the different opinions. :) But I am super glad I just went with my gut. Anyway I just wanted to update you all. It all worked out much easier than anticipated. I asked her how the project was going and that got her talking about how the ID is now delaying the project by quite a bit and blaming her for bad communication....(smh) Anyway turns out she's already having second thoughts, so I didn't really need to say much. I just mostly agreed with her and threw in a couple of ideas too. She's going to try to somehow renegotiate. Hopefully it goes well! I'm grateful to everyone who posted. Thank you!...See MoreDecorating dilemma
Comments (44)I wouldn't put anything under the niches and especially not two different kinds of things plus a table away from the wall by the door. If you want an elegant look in this space, I think less is more. I might paint the walls on the back of the niche a darker shade or different color and the shelf a lighter or darker shade and then put all my effort into art. You might be able to put a minimal console between the door and the niche if you really need a landing space, but I would really resist the urge to over-furnish the space....See MoreWhat decorative piece should I put in this niche?

Comments (48)When I saw the kitchen, I had an immediate different thought than I see here. Is that formica? If so, I would replace it with new formica in a different color... This is not a major job, evidently. It comes with the backsplash and everything. You just order the length you need. Grey (as in one of the photos upthread)? Navy? Black? With the teal blue chairs, one or more of these colors on a countertop would be striking....See MoreT Price
