Paint color for front door and front porch floor
Comments (1)I would stain the flooring, paint can peel and be a bother. For me, I'd stain it dark but that's a personal call. Painting a bright green when the rest of the colors are muted may be too much pop. How about a light green that is in the historical colors so it's muted a bit. I love apple green but muted a tiny bit....See MoreFront Entry Door - Paint or Stain
Comments (30)judi1051... thanks for your good wishes. We also went with cobblestone hardiplank ,with some hardi shake thrown in sparingly, and white trim :) We stained the door, sidelights & transom in a medium colored stain - I can't remember the mix exactly. It came out beautifully! It's hard to tell from the original picture, but we specified 18" wide sidelights & had the transom custom made by Simpson to line up with the door beneath. It didn't cost us much more & I think it added substantially to the overall look. Good luck with your door quest & new home!...See MoreFront Door Color Help Needed for SW Anonymous Painted House
Comments (32)I should have mentioned this before, but if you ever want to spend money on new doors for your garage, check out French Porte garage doors. We changed to those 12 or so years ago on our 1960 ranch. It made a world of difference on the look of the house. They are more expensive than regular doors, but what a change they made! There are also retro garage doors some of which might be cool. Until then, paint will work just fine! eta: we were posting at the same time. Love that door color, too. Like Wythe Blue, but more saturated....See MoreHelp with colors for front door on historic home
Comments (25)i'm a sucker for a deep blue. I adore cobalt. Here's one with a glossy navy or you could do more of a pale aqua the last pic is more of a vibrant red. I don't have the exact name, but it leans over toward the orange side of red rather than the blue/violet side. here is what I meant about some planters on either side of your door. This would add so much, especially if you went w/black or a cobalt. the pinks and vibrant greens really give a punch you could also do a midnight blue and get the same look have you ever thought about painting the siding? and the flowers beds in the front draw your eye to the door. This one too....See Moredonnadegraaf
