IMO you are doing this backwards. Wall color last choice , Counters after kitchen design and cabinets are chosen You cannot choose colors with no lighting in place You do not mention flooring which BTW needs to bechosen before any of these things are decided . I think you need a ID to help and honestly 20' high ceilings are horrible for lighting , sound control and huge $$$$ for heating and cooling for no purpose . Too late now to fix that but slow down these other things until the space is at least lit . IMO cabinet color trumps wall color for sure Lovely looking home why fake plastic stone ?

@Patricia Colwell Consulting The high ceilings came with the house; so we didn't change them. Our ID/GC told us that the order of job is - cabinets go in, get painted inside/out; then countertops go in, then wall/ceiling paint; then light fixtures go up and last would be stain of the hardwood. We are working with that order. Unfortunately, we will need to chose the cabinet paint before lights/wood stain. We are leaning towards medium brown hardwood (with less/no yellow or orange). Any guidance given these constraints?

Are you set on the gray wall paint color? The gray decorating trend ended its long 12 year run in 2020, so your updates will instantly look slightly dated. Just something to consider.

All that being said, I’d vote for wood cabs to warm up the space.

@chispa and @Shawna Rushford - we didn't want to go dark and/or go all white as it is big open area. As such we kind of played with Repose Gray 100/75/50%. Also we have south facing rooms (very bright) and north facing. We wanted a color that could satisfy both. However, we are open for ideas.
