Where to place toilet paper roll holder?

Where would you place a toilet paper roll holder in this bathroom? Options we have considered are on the side of the bathroom vanity, in front of the toilet, or a freestanding one. Any opinions/feedback is greatly appreciated because we are stumped!

I am leaning toward the bathroom vanity but fear it may be awkward on the left side.

That’s a similar layout to our guest bath; we put it in the vanity. You can accommodate to its being on the left, and for us it’s the only way to be reachable and replace a free- standing one we had, but I do not like, for cleaning purposes.

I don't personally care for the freestanding holders (they are fine for the extra rolls, but not for the active one, in my opinion!)

If you think being on the vanity on the left side will be awkward, your best bet is across from the toilet. But I would be inclined to try the vanity first.

We have these in chrome in our remodeled bathrooms. Our friend bought them for us in Asia. I hadn't really realized they're not common here at all, thought it was just a choice of styles. We think it looks fine, although we were fairly indifferent about our selection of toilet roll holders. The flap on ours is just a stamped metal piece with the edge rolled to create a hinge, so it could easily be removed without detracting from the look of the holder. Also I've always been and "over" rather than "under" kind of person, so the flap works correctly for us!

LOVE the basket!! Would you want to give us a link to where you found ittibbrix ? I went with a free standing holder, we have open shelving to the right of where one's feet rest when using the thrown. It tucks under the lowest shelf quite nicely.

I finally get fed up with the wiggly TP holder I got at Pottery Barn. It's just a bad design having one attachment point holding a horizontal roll with constant pulling and tearing. I found this one at Rejuvenation. It costs almost twice as much as the PB holder but it's very stable with two screws. It's also got much more heft and coordinates well with the other PB items in my bathroom. Yes, it was made in China, but it makes the PB one seem flimsy in comparison.

You could try finding some that would work - the back would have to be completely flat. i was thinking more along the lines of one that comes with the adhesive strip, like this or this. I have the stain nickel version of the second one (or close to it, from the same company) and it hasn't budged since we put it in.

Another vote against a freestanding toilet paper holder taking up floor space. You're overthinking this. Mount it on the vanity and move on. It's a small bathroom and would be out of the way there. I fail to see why this would be awkward; it's the same as half the bathrooms I've been in. If you really think that placement is a problem, buy one that recesses into the wall and install it directly across from the toilet.

Whoops- sorry for duplicate.

It looks to me from photos tgat far wall would be an uncomfortable stretch, creating potential new problems.

In the vanity. WGwoodproducts.com has wooden ones you can paint or stain to match the vanity that recess into the vanity wall.
