To address your issues:

You don’t have to go to Ikea for a new holder, his “retro fits” into the existing spring loaded holder so there’s no need to buy a new holder to use it. The nobs on the ends fit where the spring rod normally goes.

As to the target markets there are two that I have identified: 1. People with multiple children who are always running out of toilet paper. Especially families with girls.2. Men, who seem to forget to check the toilet paper before they sit down. I’m in the latter category.

I wouldn’t buy one.

I think there might be a target audience for something like this, but tbh I doubt that you will see much interest from Houzz users. On here you will find homeowners who care about the esthetics of their home way more than average. This product appears to be extremely utilitarian, and might appeal to a Reddit-like “techy” crowd who
tend to like these kinds of solutions.

I can see the need for two rolls of TP. In a former house, I built a cubby into the wall just below the TP holder to keep at spare roll close by.

I could see some use. Bathrooms with built in spring loading that doesn't have storage near the toilet for extra rolls. A home daycare .

I could see a limited market for it.

Sorry, no. I can't believe toilet paper is this difficult. : ) A single post tp holder already exists in abundance, with NOTHING more difficult required than plopping it on there. My Gawd......

All I can picture from that design? Two used up cardboard tubes versus the lazy ass and usual ONE in most homes.

My other bugaboo......Folks who will load a house with junk decor, and REFUSE to buy enough toilet paper to last a week in a five person home.

Not all bathrooms have or easily can have a slip on toilet paper holder. There is homes with built in the wall toilet paper holders.

There are renters who can't change the fixtures in the bathroom.

There are people who don't know the difference between a flat head and phillips let alone how to change a toilet paper holder.

As I said before I think there is a limited market for it. But as with any new product the challenge is marketing it to the stores or online sellers.

Honestly that is just plain ugly and if you can’t figure out the spring TP holder get one that requires no more from you than slipping the TP over the post.

That’s pretty horrible. Anyone who has to think of inventing this because their family doesn’t replace the roll? They need to work harder on retraining the family and less hard on being out of two rolls simultaneously. Because that’s what would happen. Neither roll would get replaced by the lazy so and so’s.

Who's working on the ice cube trays that are hard to fill? And the laundry hampers w/those heavy 20 ton lids that men and children can't open and are apparently gene-coded to wive's/mother's?

Congratulations on receiving a patent! I know someone who would us it, but has to hide the TP from the cats. I'm not sure it will appeal to homeowners, but you may find customers in other places. I'm thinking of bathrooms in nursing homes or other facilities where the huge commercial rolls of paper are just overkill, but a second roll easily accessible would be a plus. They look easy to fill, and so might be welcome in public campground bath houses where someone cleans and replaces such items.

Hotels? Congrats tho!
