Where can I find SOFT ruffled sheets?
Comments (13)Thank you, shermann. I love her room - it's the one that I would have like to have had as a little girl :-) I'm not sure if the Shabby Chic sheets would be soft enough, but her dust ruffle if from the Shabby Chic line (bought 50% off when the stores closed) and it's a much softer percale than the others. They're also available in a linen. Sold separately though and expensive! I like to change the beds all in one day also, but it's not always so easy to do when we have accidents on weeknights and I work the next day (one night a nosebleed that managed to get on every bedding surface, including the dust ruffle - poor thing fell off the bed and I think her daddy carried her all around the room in the dark before we realized). I think I'll wash the JC Penney sheets a few more times and use fabric softener to see if they'll soften up. If not, I can always buy an extra sateen set and make the ruffle myself out of a flat sheet (trying hard to avoid that since sewing doesn't come easily to me). Thank you!...See Morecouches: skirt vs. no skirt
Comments (20)I recently went through this too and I ditched the skirt. Used to like them. My tastes have changed completely over time. When I was selling my house last year and staging the rooms to look fresh and contemporary to appeal to young buyers, I ended up loving the look myself!! Goodbye skirts! When I was choosing a new sofa at the furniture store, the salesperson and I were looking for a sofa that kinda-sorta complemented my existing modern and recent chair purchase. When we found one, she was careful to choose a leg finish that matched my existing chair. I may not have thought too much about it. I just went and looked at the height of the legs. The sofa legs are barely visible...just a couple of inches at best. The chair legs are more exposed and are about 5 inches high. But all legs are espresso and I think that works well....See MoreTwo season bed skirts the easy way
Comments (6)What a great idea! That way you don't wonder where the other one is when it comes time to switch them. I did something kind of similar when we had our house up for sale. I would remove the everyday bedspread and put on a nice one for showings. At some point along the way, I started just folding up the sides and bottom of the everyday bedspread and putting the nice one over it....See MoreDust Ruffles on Beds with Side Rails
Comments (4)We have Temperpedic beds that raise and lower at the head and foot. I couldn't use the standard ruffles with them so I ordered some from a company that makes hard to find items. The part of the ruffle that goes across the foot of the bed where the metal bar is velcros. Just put them on yesterday so will see how durable they will be. Before buying these, I had made my own by making buttonholes where the bars would go through but with the movement of the bed, the holes tore easily....See MoreLyn Nielson
