Comments (24)Debra....you are opening a can of worms asking for seedling photos....I have dozens! They are still on my phone but once I have time I'll share them. My Awaken the Dawn never shows peach tones like yours. Mine is a light blush pink. It looks pretty either way! David....Awaken the Dawn opens perfectly nearly every time. It's so beautiful I have spent a lot of time going back to the clump to stare at it! And it's fertile both ways. I haven't yet seen the kids but hope I'll see some this summer. Thank you, Sherry! I have missed you all....See MoreThe Best C daylilies 2023
Comments (24)Lots of eye catching Cs here! Love them all. I have had to think of parameters of ”best” rather than ”favorite” and that makes a difference in selections! Creature of the Night-great height, buds, and multiplies well Clown Parade-ditto on everything already said about this plant Crystal Rubies-just an eyecatching bloom with lots of buds Cheddar Cheese-was there ever a cultivar more aptly named? A standout in the garden Come Sail Away made the list due to resilience from pot to garden with good multiplication of fans. As Celeste said, it does draw your eye to it Cameroon Night was also fabulous. Cowboys Don’t Cry is one that never disappoints....See MoreYour best 5 J daylilies 2023
Comments (15)There are many wonderful plants representing the letter J. Jerry Hyatt and Joan Derifield are excellent plants. June Torer and Jewel of the Oasis certainly would look good in my garden. J.P. Moneybags: Great grower. Tall and blooms over a long period of time. JUBILEE BALL: A wonderful Bennett intro. I just love how the blooms seem to look at me. I love this shade of pink. JELLYROLL MORTON: It sat in a pot for a year, but found a home in the ground this past Spring. It even sent up a rebloom scape, which is rare in my area. This has got to be a winner in my eyes (apparently in several people's eyes on this forum). JELLYFISH JEALOUSY: This is a wonderful Reed intro. It blooms for a very long time. I divided the very large clump this past summer. I kept five fans because it is outstanding in a clump. I've heard that it is slow to increase, but it must like my garden. For a diploid and a UFO, it makes very large fans. JAZZ ME BLUES: Another Bennett intro. A great increaser and I love the bloom. Will occasionally throw a pattern. I don't always like to follow rules so this is an honorable mention: JACK BE NIMBLE. Gold is not my favorite color, but this plant just pumps out blooms and rebounds from continued abuse - dividing. I dug up the entire clump in the Spring and moved it to a new location and was unaffected. That is all from me. David...See MoreYour 5 best L daylilies 2023
Comments (31)Late to the party, but finally here. I like that joke, Sherry, and your Late to The Party. Like Kate and most of you, I really like Laura Harwood. and also had trouble choosing one photo since she is such a showoff. Life Unlimited, another really nice one: Little Light of Mine: Always a showoff here: I am glad yours is doing well and sorry yours didn't bloom this year, Debra. Louisiana Jones: I just really like the blooms on this one: Long Legged Lap Dancer: It looks like a bitone here due to the heat I suppose: nice bloomer too. I too love Lady Dragon, Kate, but mine is too new to know how well it will do here. Mantis, I like Love 'n Loujean and Lovestruck Linda. Lavender Dew is a pretty one Brad. Debra, Lillian's Thin Ice is lovely! Nancy, Lincoln Andres is a nice one. Kate, I agree about Dragon Lady, of course, as you know. Celeste Lavender Panties is lovely Nancy, I like your Lavender Aura . David, Lunar Empire is a lovely yellow clump. A few smaller flowers are okay; Black Fathom Depths is a smaller one but a favorite nonetheless. kay...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
