tkbalt, Thank you SO much for posting. I saw your sink and thought it may have been the matte. So far it has been durable and easy to take care of? The price was killer and I'm sure we could have done better, but we just wanted to get it ordered ASAP. We started this process in MAY and it took until last week for the one cabinet we ordered to get here and installed.

I am not a professional designer but I have seen a matte black toilet that I really like. My theme has been white with black accents in the bathroom, kitchen and laundry. I have seen some black toilets and I have not liked them before but this matte one I have my eye on is tempting me to want to buy it. The walls are white, the toilet roll will be matte black. The chrome button on the toilet i will replace with either white or matte black? What is your thoughts on the toilet flush button colour? With me what has held me back on buying the toilet is being game enough to go black. I think being matte black it should be alright with fingerprints, what are your thoughts on finger marks with matte black? I would appreciate your opinion. I am a little surprised to hear about the water spots. I assumed otherwise (like a black car or black granite, but I guess those surfaces are shiny). Nice to hear that's not a concern. A polished faucet was out for me for that reason, and we don't have any other polished silver in the kitchen. I am still undecided about whether we should do a stainless or a black finish. Stainless will blend into the counters (white/grey granite) and the black will definitely stand out. The faucet will be front and center in the island, not tucked away under a window. There will be an air switch and a soap dispenser (also in black). The chicken in me says go stainless and it will blend in more...but I do love the look of the black. Kitchen hardware and door hardware throughout the house will be black. Those with black faucets, do you have black sinks, or stainless/something else? It's ok to mix, right? Stainless sinks are here and not easily returnable. I think we are set on returning the Kohler faucet, but now I'm not sure if we'll get the Delta in black or stainless. Leaning towards the Trinsic (#1 or #2), but the Essa (#3 or #4) might be easier to wipe down.

Sorry..forgot to answer colors. We arectrying to paint and update on the cheap until we do a full gut of the bathrooms in a year or two. Bright white countertop, iron gray painted cabinets, light taupe color on walls (taupe as ugly bathtub is not white). Sigh). Dark cabinet, but the rest is light. I work in public schools. I think the chrome and nickel fixtures just read institutional to me, like water fountains. Or the kind of gross/old kids' bathrooms in the school.
