How is your Delta Trinsic or Essa Faucet in Matte Black?
We are nearing the end of our kitchen remodel. Ready for countertop measure and then install in about 2 weeks. We have a stainless Kohler Simplice faucet in the box that we are considering returning and getting the Delta Trinsic or Essa faucet in the matte Black finish. Can anyone comment on the quality of the matte black finish? Does it scratch? Show water spots? Anything else we should know about these faucets? Thanks!
White perimeter cabinets, dark stained island, African Rain granite on both, stainless steel appliances, stainless steel undermount sink, matte black hardware.

Shower Curtain Rod that matches Delta Champagne Bronze
Comments (59)I got the YNL shower curtain rod recommended above from Amazon (thank you @Sarah Pecor!) and found these shower curtain hooks in brass that match pretty well from Parachute. They have a nice weight to them and when I walk in the room to me it all matches. They don’t stand out and don’t look super yellow which is what I’ve been trying to avoid. I find that brass looks different in different lighting and also different in person vs in pictures. To me it’s close enough and I’m happy with the closeness to my delta trinsic champagne brass hardware. I need help with metal for lighting, faucets, etc. I'm looking for suggestions for the entire (overall) look of the bathroom. At first I was going with polished nickel, but the faucet I want to use (Delta/trinsic) does not come in polished nickel. The light fixtures I Iike only come in polished nickel and not chrome. It's just so frustrating. I thought I could do mixed metals, but unsure of that too. I read a number of folks say don't mix polished nickel and chrome. I was thinking matte black, but nervous. My husband won't go for brass (after posing my above question), though I agree, it would be interesting. Thank you again, and if you have any other thoughts, I'd greatly appreciate them. The double vanity is 80" (white), there will be a free standing tub (white), with separate shower in white subway tiles, the quartz counter tops are a medium gray, dark slate floors, and lastly white walls. Comments (42)Millennium Lighting in Modern Gold is a perfect match for lighting. Franklin Brass Champagne Bronze pulls is an exact match. Someone recommended (on another thread) the Ivilon shower curtain rod in warm gold and it’s an awful match. The YNL is a little better. I used clear acrylic curtain rings because I felt it looked better than trying to match another gold. Haven’t found a mirror I liked in a finish that matches. Our search parameters... 1) Warranty 2) Looks good 3) Not hard to find parts 4) Reasonable price for our budget (under $400) 3) Matte black 4) Pull-down with spray 5) No deck plate needed 6) Touch activation a plus 7) Matching soap dispenser available (not included in $400) 8) Simple lines I knew I didn't want a very expensive faucet as my sister had a Rohl and finding parts was a nightmare. This was way before COVID and she lives just outside the NY metro area. If she had trouble there I was going to be out of luck in NH. It's only been about 7 months but so far so good. We did have an issue with dripping when in the "open" position but touched off and the part arrived within 2 days. The plumber commented that this was the first Delta he'd ever had a problem with. It looks great and is nice and solid. Interestingly-my sister finally replace her faucet with a Delta and it feels flimsy to me. 4 years agoI am a little surprised to hear about the water spots. I assumed otherwise (like a black car or black granite, but I guess those surfaces are shiny). Nice to hear that's not a concern. A polished faucet was out for me for that reason, and we don't have any other polished silver in the kitchen.
I am still undecided about whether we should do a stainless or a black finish. Stainless will blend into the counters (white/grey granite) and the black will definitely stand out. The faucet will be front and center in the island, not tucked away under a window. There will be an air switch and a soap dispenser (also in black). The chicken in me says go stainless and it will blend in more...but I do love the look of the black. Kitchen hardware and door hardware throughout the house will be black.
Those with black faucets, do you have black sinks, or stainless/something else? It's ok to mix, right? Stainless sinks are here and not easily returnable.
I think we are set on returning the Kohler faucet, but now I'm not sure if we'll get the Delta in black or stainless.
Leaning towards the Trinsic (#1 or #2), but the Essa (#3 or #4) might be easier to wipe down.
