Help choosing a chandelier for dining room

Comments (21)This is helping. I agree with the advice you’ve given so far. So, I need to introduce life into these rooms by adding accent colors. I’m stuck here too. I had water damage claim and as a result changed my brown/beige scheme to gray. I like the gray wall color but I’m intimidated by it. It was not an easy dealing with my insurance company and contractors so the project dragged on for months. Somewhere along the way it became less fun dealing with the change. One more thing - my best friend passed in her sleep 3 weeks ago at the age of 37. It’s been sad and depressing. I want and need color and life in these rooms and need to keep busy too. Any suggestions or comments are welcome. I like blues more than going with red accents. I also think I need to find a different rug for living room. Should there be a rug underneath dining room table?...See MoreNeed Help Choosing Dining Room Chandelier

Comments (4)Oh my. I’m swooning over your apartment. Those floors! Glorious. A few questions for context: Budget range? Number of chairs desired? What are your favorite styles, besides modern? I’m wondering if you’d want to do a mix of classical and modern. Have you gone to any Paris flea markets? I would. :) If you haven’t already, you might want to browse Chairish and First Dibs for local things … even if just for ideas and inspiration. Re: curtains — I’d wait until a few other elements are decided upon, unless you find some you love and want to work around. Your rods look fine, do you want to stay with white curtains? Of the chairs you posted, I adore the Cesca ones (stupidly sold mine 30 yrs ago). But I’d put a spin on them with color. Not necessarily blue or rust, just showing as examples: I like these boucle and metal chairs, but feel boucle has become a bit overdone in some styles: Your last chair, to me, looks possibly uncomfortable, but is interesting: ETA: And mixing a couple of styles of chairs could look pretty fab and more unique. Just one example: These two are from Craft Associates: https://craftassociatesfurniture.com/collections/modern-dining-chairs-and-bar-stools This is from Forom (I’m not familiar with this company, but Cescas are easy enough to find at other places, you could surely find them in Paris): https://www.foromshop.com/products/breuer-leather-side-chair?variant=43151499952259 These chairs are so wonderfully sculptural, and the seller is in Paris. A different take on boucle: https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/seating/chairs/set-of-4-chairs-hippo-norr11-light-smoked-oak-barnum-boucle-col24/id-f_34032232/ And here are Chairish sellers in Europe. These are lovely, maybe more traditional than you’d like … but I think they could look fantastic mixed with modern and contemporary styles: https://www.chairish.com/product/6581138/antique-french-medallion-chairs-in-mahogany-1800s-set-of-6 Love the lines of these: https://www.chairish.com/product/14805130/vintage-danish-teak-leather-dining-chairs-no55-by-niels-o-mller-for-jl-mller-1950s-set-of-6 One more, from James + James: https://carpenterjames.com/collections/dining-chairs/products/lawson-leather-chair...See MoreS A
