Merry Christmas to you too, but we are not having terrible weather, unless you think 82°F/28°C is too hot. Humidity is 16%, and so we do not have a different heat index.

I think the bad weather in other parts of the U.S. will be short-lived - it just happens to be occurring right at Christmas, which is unfortunate. I hope everyone will be able to keep warm enough and can stay off the streets.

I have avoided terrible NY weather. I am in the same area as Lars, LA. It is sunny and warm almost hot few days here. Will be spending X'mas on the beach.

Lots of cooking to do. Just came back from food shopping. LA is expensive.

We're feeling the arctic blast. At least it got above freezing today. First few hours of the past 2 mornings I've had to swap out hummer feeders as they start to slush up. I like the colder weather, but not this cold. It is Louisiana for crying out loud.

Here it's 11F, but the winds are down to 15 MPH, so not all that bad. If it gets up to 20F, the salt they put on the roads will be able to melt the ice, and then driving won't be quite as treacherous. All in all, my part of the world got a storm, but not quite as bad as the weather forecasters were predicting.
