Hello! Are you able to upload photographs of your hardwood stain? Generally speaking, SW Alabaster is a warmer white with yellowish undertones whereas SW Crushed Ice is more gray with blue undertones. If your hardwood is warmer shades of gray, you may want to look at Alabaster. If it is cooler shades of gray, Crushed Ice would work best.

Do you happen to know wood species of the flooring and trim color of your bedroom as well? Stains show up differently on different species and you want to make sure your wall paint isn't going to compete or clash with your trim either! Thank you!

Pick your bedding first. Bedspread or duvet or comforter and the sheets. The window treatments. There are far fewer choices in the fabrics than in the paint. After all the fabrics have been picked it will be easy to pick a paint. If a standard paint color isn’t close enough, take some of the bedding to a good paint store and have a gallon custom mixed. In my previous house, before we even broke ground, I picked my colors. When it came time to paint, most of the colors were perfect, but one room jumped out as terrible. It was a luscious dark dark greenI, but in the daylight and next to the hallway trim it was off. I went back to my BM dealer, explained how unhappy with my choice I was, and in twenty minutes he had customized with a little dash of black my off the shelf can of paint. I lived with that perfect color for nearly twenty years until we moved. Pick the fabrics first-you will be happier.

This is the hardwood in my bedroom. It is 50/50 mix of Jacobean and classic gray on solid red oak. The trim color is sw alabaster.

@Michelle thanks for sharing an image, this is very helpful! If you wanted to keep a monochromatic color scheme in the bedroom, you could paint walls Alabaster since trim is already Alabaster. If you want some more depth to the space, Crushed Ice will give you more of a contrast because it is a few shades darker than Alabaster. What kind of lighting do you have in this space? You could also consider Sherwin Williams Pediment which is one shade lighter than Crushed Ice.

Based on the flooring photograph you shared we think both colors will go with the space and flooring no problem. It just comes down to your own preference and the style/feeling you are trying to create in the room. Alabaster will make the room feel slightly larger because it is a light shade. If you do not have great lighting in the evenings in the bedroom, Crushed Ice may read a lot darker than it really is in the evenings, especially if you have bulbs with a yellowish luminescence.

To add on - you are selecting between two very neutral tones, so it leaves your options pretty open to select your bedding/window treatments once you get to that point. We are currently loving blues and greens as accents in bedrooms in the form of pillows, bedding, artwork, etc; but if you prefer to keep a monochromatic color scheme, you can stick to neutral colors too.
