Kitchen cabinets/wall white paint color

I have imperial vermont danby countertops and am struggling to pick a white paint color for my cabinets/walls. Any suggestions?

I had reclaimed marble counters in my old kitchen that were very similar to imperial Danby. I used Benjamin Moore maritime white. It looked great. It wasn't an exact match, which was fine, but it complemented it really well. It wasn't too bright nor was it dingy.

Beautiful marble...and it should be. It comes from Vermont, from deep down in the earth. I'm going to suggest B.M. Chantilly Lace. It is the whitest white in the B.M. Collection with almost no undertone. LRV of 90 makes it a very clean white.

I follow this gal. Her home is beautiful. And she has your countertops.

What color is your floor? Drapes? Counters? I just had a color consult for my cream w/brown glazed cabinets, hazelnut (dark) hardwood, and granite (greys, blacks & browns), cream trim, brown, turquise & gold drapery treatment, and they suggested a milk chocolate paint color. I'm waiting for the sample to see if it will work.

Here are all the various shades of color you that have to be juggled. The table chairs work with your home and should stay Obviously the floor is staying IMO the wall color to start with is too green & needs to be changed Not sure the cabinets should be one color. Because of the style of the home, I'm wondering if the chair frame distressed finished should be duplicated on your cabinets. See image below. Maybe one color for the island and another for the perimeter cabinets or one for the top cabinets and a darker color for the base cabinets.Here is the Anne Sloane Chalk paint with two different wax finishes. BTW give your table and chairs a quarter turn like this. The area will flow better.

Hi Bigideas87, Yes, I understand a little better the style you are going for. I would say go stark white. Seriously. Go with what you love. Find a white by testing different whites on large pieces of cardboard and leave them around your room for a few days to see which one sings to you. I love Super White by BM. I almost think the brighter, the cooler the white the more the baltic brown counters will look almost black. And embrace those counters despite the fact you detest them, start being nice to them because they might just help you make your kitchen fun. Since they are part of your kitchen make them be a player in your space. Not the star. Check out below there are some browns pulled into the space that make the kitchens almost as pretty as your bathroom image above. With your inspiration photo I see a subway with a dark grout. I say do that! Do a subway with a grout that is a black or dark brown to pull those counters in but give you a more modern feel to the space. Use black modern hardware and light fixtures. On a tight budget visit pinterest to see how you can spray paint hardware to give you want you want. Or spray an old light fixture. You need some warm accents. Right now it is a very “chilly” scheme. Your whites are different…floor is a stark white, your upper cabs are creamier and you're adding another white for the counter. I’d start with a backsplash, blending all the tones, going as warm as possible. For the walls, give a thought to red…specifically B.M. Burnt Russet…a delicious warm red.

Paint colors can look so different depending on the exposure and other factors. I picked a color for my north facing bedrooms that I thought would work in my north facing kitchen but it looked dead in the kitchen. So I had to try four more colors until I got the right one. There is no way to shortcut this process. You need to bring home several chips from your preferred brand, then sample. Sometimes getting whites to work together is so difficult it is better to just lean gray, blue or green so it doesn't look like you tried for a match and missed.

If you're having your cabinets custom painted ask for a sample door before they go ahead and do all of them. The other thing that influences our perception of color is the sheen. Cabinets will be painted with a more glossy finish than walls usually are.
