Beth H is right. The white tile with the white cabs will be very jarring with that granite

Also, using dark grout with a light tile will create a busy pattern. That granite already has a lot of movement, so adding more in the backsplash isn't a great idea. Once you select a backsplash use a grout that's close in color to it.

That It is definitely baltic brown... And that is one of those granites that makes white kitchens look muddy.. Are you firm on the White paint? Or would you be willing to do a creamy beige that can work with that brown counter? Are you firm on keeping the counters?

Is this a North facing room? How about windows? Do you have lots of light coming in? Sherwin Williams has this cool post about colors that go with your Baltic Brown granite.

I just had the trim painted in my house. I wanted a crisp, stark, clear cool white that will go with blues. I love Benjamin Moore Super White. It doesn't matter if your room is north or south facing this white stays crisp white. Another option that might look better with your granite might be a warmer white called Cloud White by BM, it goes better with warmer colors.

Some favorite whites... White Dove BM, Simply White BM, and maybe even Mayonnaise that has this creamy white color also by BM But if you know that backsplash tile is the one you want to use, why not have BM color match it? And use that same white throughout your home in either gloss or semigloss for trim etc..

I decided to see what Houzz has for white kitchens with Baltic Brown granite.. Is this the look you are going for? Maybe find out what white paint was used.

Please do a test on the black trim before painting your whole condo. We bought a loft condo (rental) with all black trim. Even with 14’ ceilings the trim made the place look dark and dated.

We had it repainted in SW white and it looks a whole lot better.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I'm realizing I should be more clear on what we are hoping to do to get more targeted comments. I am dead set on a white kitchen because I am not married to our countertops at all. We can't afford to change them now, but I don't want to make them the center of a design concept because I want to change them down the road. I hate (I know that's a strong word haha), but I hate how the baltic brown looks with cream because it's very traditional looking. I want crisp and modern. This is a bathroom but it gives a sense of what I'm looking to do in the kitchen. So advice on the best white paint color to move the kitchen in that direction while not being too cool a white that it will fight the countertops would be very helpful.

I understand wanting to modernize. The issue is that even if you're okay with living with the stark white clashing for a while when you eventually replace the countertop chances are your backsplash will get damaged. I say paint the cabinets now but wait on doing the backsplash until you do the countertop.

Yes, I understand a little better the style you are going for. I would say go stark white. Seriously. Go with what you love. Find a white by testing different whites on large pieces of cardboard and leave them around your room for a few days to see which one sings to you. I love Super White by BM.

I almost think the brighter, the cooler the white the more the baltic brown counters will look almost black. And embrace those counters despite the fact you detest them, start being nice to them because they might just help you make your kitchen fun. Since they are part of your kitchen make them be a player in your space. Not the star. Check out below there are some browns pulled into the space that make the kitchens almost as pretty as your bathroom image above.

With your inspiration photo I see a subway with a dark grout. I say do that! Do a subway with a grout that is a black or dark brown to pull those counters in but give you a more modern feel to the space. Use black modern hardware and light fixtures. On a tight budget visit pinterest to see how you can spray paint hardware to give you want you want. Or spray an old light fixture.

is there currently a backsplash? I ask, because if you're going to replace them after you tile, you may be left w/a large gap. happens when you remove older, thicker granite. So, go ahead and paint your cabs Simply White, or Super white. they are both a perfect neutral white. Then just paint the wall for now until you are ready for countertops.

(you can do prefab granite/marble or quartz countertops for about 1800 total,,,providing your kitchen isn't huge) just saying,,

It seems less complicated and safer to just replace the countertop and backsplash and leave the cabinets. Painting cabinets professionally is expensive and should be done perfectly.
