Comments (9)I plan my work schedule and vacations around fledging time. I have even NOT attended family gatherings. My family knows when the babies are due to leave I will NOT leave until they have all left and made it to the trees. I don't even go to church and Pastor knows why. I put out 900 wax worms and 2000 meal worms in the frezing weather last week (of course a lot more than just Blues have babies). I have taped and untaped boxes according to the weather and have had to assist in more than 1 baby that would not have made it had I not interviened. I have been known to flap my arms and whistle and point to babies on the ground when I dont think the parents see where the baby went when it left the box. I trap HOSPs put up Wren guards, grease my poles and put soap on the top of the inside of my boxes. I have wrapped them in bubble wrap or cling wrap, put ice packs on top of boxes with umbrellas in the heat. I run off Chipmunks and other critters when the Blue,Dees, whatever are agitated with them. I leave my door open a crack in freezing weather so I can hear what is going on out there at all times. I have a nest box with a video camera and 4 other boxes.I have re usable "raindrop" window covering for my MR. Blue that likes to fight himself in the window. Should I continue????? This is normal behavior for many of us here! LOL!...See Moreis there anything you wish you had done
Comments (48)cpartist, You understand where I'm coming from. I'm not an artist, but I'm gathering photographs and making sketches (I'm certain they're not as good as yours), and I don't want to feel that I'm being a pest. On the other hand, I'm thinking about last fall when I had a guy over here to rip out my girls' hall bath tub (which was sinking into the crawl space -- not good) and replace it with a walk-in tile shower. I bought the tile myself -- large tile for the wall, small tile for the floor -- and I just assumed that he'd use the small tile as an accent in the storage niche. He thought I wanted it to blend in with the rest of the wall. Because I was here at the house while he was working, I saw what he was doing, and he did what I wanted. But if I hadn't been here, I couldn't have criticized him because I did not say I wanted the accent tile in the niche. Lesson learned. GreenDesigns, I believe what you're saying!...See MoreContracts.. Who did you have review and anything you would add...
Comments (5)CRHBobby - We were originally going to go that route but I wanted the flexibility to have the drawings bid out.. We ended up paying about 1000 more then you did but the plans are ours.. Your builder should be receptive to minor changes in the contract, as long as they are reasonable. The way I look at the contract is that you can't have it all, nor should the builder.. The contract should create a level playing field.... On a side note.. If you have the layout you can just take it to another architect and you could have it done in about 2-3 weeks.. When we went to do our house drawings we had about 3 or 4 plans that had layouts and features we liked.. The architect then took these and came up with a custom layout..Having those drawings saved us a lot of time.. Some people go in blind and have no idea what they want.. But if you already have the layout the architect will be able to get the drawings faster and should do it pretty cheap since he doesn't have to draw it from scratch.. You paid 2500 for drawings.. They should be yours.....See MoreWhat have you done for your compost lately?
Comments (117)I'm sorry you're going through that. (Nowadays) I would rent a trailer. I'll tell you why you should take them. They'll make you feel good when you get to your new place. You might be blue at first, but then you'll walk outside, and see those leaf bags, and they will cheer you up. I kid you not. Then, it won't be long before you're spreading them on your new beds---with new, exciting, garden plans occupying your thoughts---and you'll think to yourself, "That trailer money was the best money I ever spent." Here's what you do not want to do. You do not want to leave an especially well-balanced compost pile behind, with your failed marriage. You don't want to spend the next two months resenting that you had to leave that hard-earned bounty behind; the resentment fermenting until you find yourself in a fit of pique some day, back at your former husband's house, shoveling chipped leaves, carrot peelings, seaweed, lobster shells, eggshells, worms, and their casings, directly onto the unprotected, carpeted back of your 1984 Ford Escort station wagon....See MoreJasdip
