need help with paint colors
Looking for paint color ideas and a wallpaper. It’s a traditional home but my style is more transitional. Looking to use color to modernize I love moody but am afraid to do it.

last yearIf you want drastic change, you can go for dark grey wall to coordinate with your light gray furniture, it can be quite dramatic and the room can take it with the large 2-floor high windows. Here's the look with silver curtains, new lighting fixtures, pale gray walls in the ajoining entrance and staircase, painting the risers and staircase mouldings in white,
Nice wallpaper is expensive but I show one in a lighter gray with gold lines to which the wall colour can be matched.

Comments (2)Yea it is confusing with the rendering. Sorry about that! The rendering is simply for house design reference. I notated what material is on what part of the house for help in what color should be put where. I’ve read that you’re supposed to use the same color on the same materials. Comments (17)The brick got painted after a "free" paint job (court-ordered refund). All of the houses on my street are in the tan family with the exception of the house next door which has lighter gray siding and one farther down the street which is a darker gray. We picked a shade that was not in stark contrast to the neighboring house and lighter than the other. This is one of the larger houses on the street and I think the choice of gray will help it blend in more than stick out like a huge box. Comments (2)Need to consider colors that are in all the fixed elements (flooring, such as carpet, wood, tile, countertops, if there’s a fireplace with stone or brick). The natural light coming in through windows is important (direction of light as stated above) and do you have molding that will be painted or will it stay the same? last yearlast modified: last yearI also liked Nickel|kg's idea of another colour than white for the ceiling so I tried to illustrate it in gray... My previous and this suggestion are based on the current furniture but I saw you recently added a comment about waiting for new furniture so I don't know if the grey is still relevant.
