Help me find this song, I beg of you!

I heard this song for the first time a few years ago & really liked it. It came on the radio twice in the last month & I'm positive it's a cover of a Diana Ross or DR and the Supreme's song.

It's a slow version by a man and some of the lyrics, not necessarily in order, are

(sung slow) Baby... baby... baby... can't you feel/hear my heart beat?

Burnin' yearnin' or yearnin' burnin'.... I can sing the right tune in my head and can't find anything with those lyrics.

There is a song called Burnin' Yearnin' by Pleasure and that's not it.

I'm rather new to Phals, but I do know that producing a keiki is a lot of hard work for the mother plant. Since you can't be sure of conditions a new Orchid, esp a Big Box Store bought one was grown in or how long it was "on the shelf", I would assume the plant is stressed and not induce keikis this year. I would cut the spent flower spike and fertilize at the first sign of new growth.

If I had your wildlife, and a large lot or acreage, I'd plant a hedgerow of the shorter types of Hybrid Spinosissima such as Stanwell Perpetual, or R. spinosissima, to create a low thorny fence to discourage the little bunny rabbits, around the regular rose garden. Even if the bunnies do eat some of the spinosissma rose foliage, because the roses produce only one bloom cycle, the bush won't need as much foliage to photosynthesize and create blooms every month or two. Behind the row of spinosissima roses, a fence to discourage deer, planted with a row of beautiful thorny Ramblers,on the inside facing the rose garden,which would create a spectacular vista of bloom in early summer, and a wall of foliage through early autumn. From spring through early autumn, at least your vista would be of roses and foliage, and only in the winter, when you'll probably be spending less time in your garden, would the fence be more visible. Michelle, even though you are in a warm zone, I think these begonias simply need a period of dormancy and perhaps thrive best when kept in humid eniironment with filtered light. I dunno... fo sho, so check for better expert begonia advice than me, but my begonias tend to want SLEEP during this time of year. When I lived in sunny Southern Calif my begonias lasted all year but now I am in zone 5b and have to keep the roots warm to even save one. I sure do understand your panic however, since I've nursed plants that were starts from my Grandmas's plants and she was born in 1898. Wish I could tell you EXACTLY what to do, but begonias like an Angel Wing (for me) tend to simply need a few months of sleep. I hope yours will soon bounce back. Another option is to soon as possible propogate that special plant with divisions or cuttings under lights and suddenly have several plants that will be clones. Ever WHAT... I sure hope you can save that treasure that is now yours to keep alive. Just don't assume the plant is dead when it's only asleep. My wife once made that mistake with me. jim

Feed stores...go to the yellow pages of the phone book, should be listed under "F" for feed stores I think? Look for stores that cater to chicken, birds, horses and dogs...usually they sell to agriculture or people that have a mini farm or stable. I'm not positive if there's a difference with the Kelp, but I've read great things about the Norwegian brand, so that's why I wanted to try it.

Thank you Sue!! I knew it was a DR & the Supremes song but I didn't know the title. I'm surprised the lyrics I searched for never came up.

I love good cover songs.

Just so you know, Peter Noone was my first boyfriend. In sixth grade. :)

I loved Diana Ross and The Supremes in the 60's ! They were among so many wonderful groups and singers came out of the Detroit music scene back then. I guess we were blessed, and didn't even realize it at the time.

Yes, I loved Squeeze.

No Grateful Dead for me but DH was a total deadhead back in the day…before I knew him, when I was more into the B-52’s. 😎

I was at a house sale today and they had Joni Mitchel Blue playing in several of the rooms. I was mouthing the words to every song and then noticed a woman moving to the music and another softly singing a few feet away. I walked between them and said 'I know exactly how old you are, we are all women of a certain age' . We all had a laugh and agreed we had the best music generation then continued shopping. I lingered for the music and probably bought more as a result! The couple who run the sales (a couple of years younger) always has the best music - I'm sure they know it helps sales!

As a fellow former Michigander who grew up in a town close to Detroit, I loved the Motown Sound, especially Dianna Ross and the Supremes and The Temptations. My father, a bank VP in Detroit, was the banker and financial advisor to some of them, although I sadly never met them myself.

Oh, I just spent a great few minutes listening to that and will repeat the experience. Sueb, you're the one who turned me onto Brandi Carlile too -and she's one of my absolute favorites now, and a favorite of DD's. We had an amazing time at her Austin concert a few months ago.

Ditto DLM. Even my adult children agrees that our generation had the best music. Real songs, real bands, real voices. Songs with meaning.

Lynn, my mom worked at a radio station when I was in high school and she got me two front row seats to the Temptations concert at Tulsas Civic Center. They were all in white and I fell in love with all of them.

I also got to see The Shirelles & when they started singing Soldier Boy the whole audience fell silent. In case you young 'uns have never heard the song, take a listen.

Years ago DH & I were watching Johnny Carson when Diana Ross came on. Very pregnant.

It's a long interview so FF to 8:52. DH and I were blown away.

Funny! I just shared a video of a Supremes song on the Friday music thread, and commented that nobody suffered so much in love as The Supremes 😄

I have a collection of Supremes hits and taken all together, it's hard not to notice that theme.

I'm a Motown lover as well 😊

I miss the music of the 60s and 70s. Thank you for the blast from the past!

Got me looking for the newer version, slow, male singer - The only one I found is one by Lee Siegel, more of a Jazz version. I would post the link, but can't get to you tube or music on this computer (work computer). Wondering if this is the version you heard.
