My child and I really love the peach shakes that kick off summer. Do you also get those at Chick-fil-A? Of course, I would think a company based in Atlanta Georgia would have great peaches. 😉

Congrats, Welcome aboard. Now get ready to have the greenest/healthiest lawn on the block. Since it sounds like your main goal with the CGM is weed control I would apply another 10lbs/1000 today. CGM must be applied at minimum 20lbs/1000sqft to have any hopes of weed suppression. Water it in 2x in one week then switch to deep and infrequent water.(this is a must) The longer you can go between waterings after applying CGM the better your success rate will be. Im talking more than a week in between waterings if possible for the next month or 2. Let your lawn tell you when it needs water. When 30-50% of your lawn is wilted, water the next morning with 3/4-1" water. With an organic approach you are going to have some weeds, But if you maintain your yard properly you wont have very many. Your holiday schedule sounds good to me, but I have warm season grass. You might need to adjust it slightly for cool season varieties. You might also consider adding Regular Corn Meal into your schedule to help ward off most fungus problems. Used Coffee Grounds can be added with regular feedings or in between, your choice. With alfalfa I've found that it must be applied heavily (25lbs-35lbs/1000) if used alone to have noticeable effects. I like applying alfalfa along with SBM. Both at about 13lbs/1000. All in all it sounds like your off to a great start.

I just saw outdoor jack o'lantern pieces in front of Kroger before the kids are back in school and thought that was bad. Have received a couple of Halloween/fall themed catalogs recently, but not Christmas (unless DH is pitching them before I see them). I understand stores that sell for crafting stocking early. It can take months to do some projects (needlework, esp) and some folks start making in quantity to sell. I', used to those showing up in July, but I can't think about Christmas when kids are still out of school and we're being told we are just getting to the heart of hurricane season (supposed to be an active one and we haven't really ahd anything yet). And until the rain hit this past weekend, we'd been up over 100 degrees.

Somebunnies need to ask for a blender for Christmas...

Actually, a hand mixer can make a milkshake. You crush the fruit with the beaters and then add ice cream and a little heavy cream or half and half. I make strawberry and raspberry with berries we pick.

Yes, I mean near me. They are too wimpy tasting at Starbucks. Surprisingly there is no independent coffee shops near me that makes them. They only do various coffee drinks.

I tried one today since we stopped at CFA for a quick lunch. It was pretty tasty and satisfied my ice cream craving. I isually just drink water so it was a real treat.
