Christmas came early to my house:(
Comments (7)I couldn't NOT comment on the "peeking" story. I don't think either of my boys found or opened presents but we had a tradition of an advent calendar with little chocolates. This was too much for them both at some point. The younger one ate the whole box after only a few days of having a nightly chocolate and realizing what was in there. The older one really made me laugh. It was probably his second year of having a calendar and he was getting the hang of it. On day, he was 3 or 4, he was unusually quiet. I called him and heard this little voice. It was coming from under the couch. I looked underneath and saw he was facing the wall. I asked what he was doing? "Nothing". I got him out and, of course, he had his calender and was eating the chocolates. He was old enough to know he shouldn't be and did feel a little guilty. We made a point of "skiping" the days that were gone and he never did it again. Thanks for the trip down memory lane - that was probably 20 years ago. Happy Holidays to all of you. Comments (11)I just received the Napastyle Holiday catalog that's full of things that are not Christmas related, as well as ones that are. Always love looking at the catalog (and Michael Chiarello, he's so cute and young) order very little but it's not one I get every week, like some of them. I could spend big bucks on things I don't need or have a place for....See MoreMy first holiday mishap....
Comments (22)I made my home made sausage dressing yesterday. I stirred it with my favorite silicon spatula. I was about to put the pan of dressing in the oven when I glanced down and noticed half of my silicon spatula was missing. My friend and I spent a half an hour digging through the pan of dressing finding the little pieces of spatula and trying to piece them together on the main part to make sure we got them all. Sigh. Good thing the spatula was teal blue which made finding the pieces a little easier....See MoreO/T... I'm sorry, I've got to say it....
Comments (77)Sheila, thank you for responding.Your loyalties to Justice and kindness etc. are for me included under the heading of God, that is, Justice and kindness/charity. Yet I don't doubt that there are some differences in the details of our thinking. Paul, I had expected the dialog to be political. That it has become, in part, a question of religion was a surprise. Ingrid, anyone who has ever worked for the federal government knows that what Hillary did with her Email server brings jail time. No excuses. The reason for such a severe penalty is because of the severe damage such behavior causes, that is, the death of American military and intelligence members as well as revealing classified state secrets. She was handling material of the highest classification. In addition there is sufficient evidence that her Email was indeed hacked. That she was exonerated by a politicized Justice Department does not rectify the situation. The most generous argument for not prosecuting her is that it could have destabilized the American electoral process, a significant consideration. In other, words her exoneration was not based on her innocence (because she was not innocent) but rather on practical considerations. Many of the men who wrote the Constitution were deists and the document reflects that. The framers of the Constitution were opposed to an established state religion, not opposed to God. The Constitution has provided wide enough scope for both atheists and those who believe in God to flourish. And now I will stop posting on this topic as I have said what I have to say.
