Yay you! Cover up the root ball on that basil, right away! Get some of your dirt and bring it over the top of the potting soil in a thin layer, maybe 1/2 inch. You especially want to cover it over the sides, up to the top of the potting soil as it came out of the pot. Also, I can see a pot lip around that squash (?) in the middle. If that's in a peat pot, then you need to trim the peat pot lower, possibly even remove it. If it's in a plastic pot, you need to pull it out and remove the plastic pot, then replant the squash (?) in the same place. Then water. I like the bricks. Those are nice!

No offense taken here PBob, I was just was not sure you knew about the Petersen Papaws still being under patent, and that asking for scion wood from them probably not result in any offers as I think most here will respect those patents. I think many of us are frustrated in obtaining the Peterson Cultivars. I have eaten a lot of native Pawpaw, but no grafted ones yet, as mine have a few years to go, and I havenÂt had the greatest luck keeping them alive either. I have better luck with your namesake persimmons, I saw your post about scion for them as well and in a couple years I should be able to share scion wood of them with you. I have couple that would be available now, and replied as such in that post, but they are pretty common cultivars, if my plans workout this year I should pretty much double my cultivars from the current 8. I need something to eat while I wait on my PawPaws and my Magness pears that Lucky just burst my bubble on. I was thinking maybe 7 years, but 15 years, maybe I will pull them out now before they get too big. Emailing Nolin River and ask to be placed on the PawPaw waiting list seems to be the only path for PetersenÂs cutlivars. The other place that is listed for propagating them is Forrest Keeling Nursery, but has anybody been successful purchasing from them? I was not, I know they are wholesale, but who do they sell to? Maybe someone is establishing a commercial orchard and purchases all they have available. Basically Forrest Keeling told me they had them, but would not sell me any.

Fiedlermeister, your photo looks like it could have been taken by my plant except for the extra green pod. The seeds I grew, which were from you, sure grew true to type. I'll try to get a photo to you sometime soon of another variety that didn't grow as expected....but that may have been a mix-up on my part. Habbob, I have overwintered other plants from my yard such as geraniums and never had aphids before. Even now, with aphids on nearby peppers, the geraniums look fine. I guess a few aphids must come in on the peppers and then the population explodes because few or no predators are around. I never noticed aphids while the plants were out on the patio. I've found a few spiders and a ladybug or two in the house and put them on the peppers, but they haven't done the job. I'd guess anywhere that has aphids outside would likely end up with aphids inside when overwintering peppers. Sure hope it's not only us here in the mid-west that get to deal with them! I AM the housewife, who also works at a nature center, and I don't mind sharing the house with a few invertebrates. Much better in my opinion than spraying toxins all over which some relatives do whether they see "bugs" or not. You're right though, some visitors are not so accepting of the critters, and this year we had a son's "significant other" here who I didn't want to scare off. So I haven't purchased any predators yet and don't know if they would swarm all over or not. I doubt they would freak me out, but I would have to round them up before having the in-laws over. They are great folks and rave about tomatoes and peppers I grow, but they don't tolerate creepy crawlies at all.

Very nice. Pink Pansy is a great cultivar to have. It does great in hot and full sun conditions. Once mature you can get multiple active blooms cycles per tip in a season. To the best of my recollection it has never had anything more than an occasional issue with spider mites or thrips. Also Never had sunburn issues.
