I wish I would have seen this thread before purchasing my wood floors from Appalachian!! I DO NOT recommend at all. I bought white oak floors (Alta Mode line) and when they were first installed they were beautiful. But after a few months, they look so dirty! I purchased these knowing they were “sealed” which is completely false. The grain is open allowing for any dirt to enter, an no amount of hand scrubbing can even get them cleaned. Two pictures show under a rug, and the other picture in an area that’s exposed. I was told the warranty means nothing. So sad considering they were $10sqft!

I purchased the Puresque "Lake Forest" line last year. It was installed August 22, 2007 over a 1/2' - 8 pound pad. My wife and I are the only two living in our house and we are both are over 70. The carpet for unknown reasons got so dirty it had to be cleaned last week by professional cleaners. The cleaners could not believe how dirty the carpet had gotten in a year like the odor stuff had collected dirt into the carpet. The ware and tear in traffic areas was unbelievable. He suggested that I have a manufactures rep come and take a look at the ware and fraying of the carpet. I arranged to do that 2 weeks ago. The new carpet is almost as bad as the 13 year carpet that it replaced. Do you have any comments about the "Puresque" carpeting since it is suppose to be so great? Beaulieu of America rep want come and look at it saying that the warranty does not cover matting or retention. What is covered by the 15 year ware warranty???? Does anyone have experience or instructions for disassembling these for a move? I've contacted Macy's and they told me to contact the manufacturer (Kuka) directly, which I did, but getting very strange answers about the product, as if they don't actually know how it's put together. We have the two power recliners that are linked together. But do the arms detach also? The manufacturer is telling me to lift entire unit by the arms and they are telling me it doesn't come apart in the middle. Both of these answers seem problematic, but the items were delivered and installed by Macy's several years ago, and I can't quite remember how they were put together. I have asked Kuka directly for some sort of user's manual, but no luck.

Coastal Collection is not a "Paint"...it just looks like paint. It's less money than Medallions Enamel Painted finishes (15% upcharge). The Coastal collection only has a 5% upcharge. The sheer shows very little, if any, wood grain. The dry brush coastal DOES show more wood grain. I have samples in my showroom. The Castlerock is a very light COOL gray. The Harbor Mist is a warm gray and darker. I like the Harbor Mist better! But I'm not a fan of cool grays. We have the Seagrass Sheer on Maple in our showroom (on the Walton door)...with a real paint on the upper cabinets (I think it's Irish creme on the Jackson door.)
